Blood of Wonderland

This is the second book in the triology. Dinah has escaped the castle but is now in the Twisted Wood and her survival is questionable until she meets a Spade who, for reasons of his own, helps Alice. She then meets the Yurkei who are not overly friendly but she is given a chance to train to fight.

The training is brutal. She also learns more about the castle and what is done there then she ever knew including the fact that the Spade card soldiers are treated horribly. If this isn't enough Alice finds out what the history she has learned about her own self can itself be called into question.

What was pretty much inevitable begins to take form as negotiations are gotten underway for an army of what those in the castle would consider misfits. Badly outnumbered they still hope to overthrow the ultra-cruel Queen and establish Alice is the rightful queen. The question is will they have any real chance of doing that? It's a question left for the final book. I like this novel even better than I did the first. The characters really stand out.
