I Am Alice

Volume 1:

Alice gets back into Wonderland but this time something goes wrong. She and a guy named Makoto end up having a body swamp which, without question, will lead to some humorous events later on.

Alice quickly proves herself a better fighter than Makoto. She finds out the King of Hearts is the ruler and things are not going well with that. She encounters the Mad Hatter and others and finds out about a movement that is afoot that plans to remove the king from power. A revolution could be in the making. Or maybe not. Either way, both Alice and Makoto have to deal with being in the wrong bodies and all that entails. A good first volume in the series.

Volume 2:

Another monster is killed. The Dormouse tells about someone he liked who was killed by order of the king. It ends up that a whole group goes against the king, fighting monsters as they move to his castle. Someone who was thought dead isn't. The March Hare has a beautiful garden.

There is really bad blood between the King and the Hatter who once were friends. Hatter becomes close to Alice/Makoto. Alice's sister is missing. We find out that not everyone likes Alice and the King has something in store for her. A good second volume.

Volume 3:

Alice wakes up chained to a wall while an attack on the palace begins. Makoto still has trouble adjusting to the fact that he was born a male but is now in a female body but more and more he begins to adapt to that. He wonders if he is actually mentally turning into a girl.

The Jabberwock makes an appearance and Alice ends up in a labyrinth. She meets the Queen of Hearts and finds out why the King is so nasty. She ends up having to decide if she is going to stay in Wonderland and if she, Makoto, wants to stay as a girl. A good conclusion to the series.
