Alice in Wonderland Illustrators
What I have below is a list that I've come up with of people who illustrated Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass or both. I've also added names from those who did the artwork for comics, coloring books and tarot cards.
As to comics, although there are many of those most of them only list an 'art director' and not actual artists so I haven't included them in this list. As you can see I have the name of the illustrator followed by a scan of the cover, the date published (ND for no date in the book and c. for around a certain date) and three scans of artwork from the book.
The purpose of all this is to give an idea of just how many different people have illustrated Carroll's works and give you an idea of if you like that persons artwork or not. Personally I tend to like the artwork from say the 1930's and back.
If you see any mistakes (and I'm sure there's some) or have any other names you'd like to add let me know. This is not a complete list as there are some I haven't been able to find information on other than the cover and sometimes not even that.
Also note that the date I give is for the book I have or a specific one I found reference to. Some books may have more than one date to them so the date I give is one I came across first.
As far as the individual pages go, I give the name of the artist and at least one date of the book their work appeared in (if I was able to find a date for it). In many cases there will follow four pics; the cover of the book and three of the artwork. In a number of cases, though, there will be fewer scans since I wasn't able to always find the cover plus three examples of the artwork.
