New Adventures in Wonderland

This book was done in 1917 and is a really good book. The main character is Betsy, but in her dream she sees herself as Alice. What happens in her dream she relates to what happened to Alice and who she met.

Like in the original novel things can change rather quickly as they do in real dreams. Betsy has been looking for a new Alice book and in her dream she finds a series of Wish There Were More Books and, of course, one is about further adventures of Alice.

She encounters a bird with a pipe, various Mother Goose characters, a self-steering pen and various other oddities. She is able to fly. She meets some new people including a baker, a poet and white rabbits.

One change is that the croquet game is replaced by a tennis game.

This book has the spirit of the original books and is much more innocently written than many of the other Alice follow-up books that I have read.
