The series does make it appear that Annette is some kind of country bump-kin plopped down in the world of the relatively well-to-do. In this episode, for example, she doesn't know what kind of spoon to eat her grapefruit with (although, actually, neither would I), and she doesn't drink coffee, just milk. She also seems to be holding her fork the wrong way (I can see it now; instruction manuals for holding forks the 'right' way.)
She also doesn't have any dresses but the one she arrived in. They also make her talk in a bumpkin-type manner. She's from the farm and apparently hasn't had much to do with city life. (Her parents are dead.)
The girl named Jet is introduced. She's also from a farm.
