The idea about sending her to a boarding school is brought up and Annette really doesn't want to go. Annette's aunt meets a friend of hers whose daughter is holding a party and, without asking the daughter, invites Annette. Meanwhile, the daugher, Val, and her friend are making fun of Annette's clothes.
The aunt and uncle decide to let Annette attend public school, at least for a little while.
