One Step Beyond: The Lonely Room

The episode takes place in France. Therese has just washed her hair.

Some guy has been watching her and then ducks down to act like he's working at his desk. Another guy comes in and talks to him.

He says he doesn't know how to handle himself with women. The old guy tries to talk the young one into taking the woman out on a date.

She does seem to be expecting him to come out of his room and notice her.

He hears a guy reading poetry to the woman and looks out his door. It seems to be him.

He sees them go out somewhere.

He goes to the place he would have brought her and waits there. She comes in with 'him' later.

He's falling apart as he watches them dance.

The other him returns, kisses the woman and then rings the bell where 'he' lives.

He sees the other him go up the stairs to his room. He runs up the stairs, enters his room and finds the lighted candle the other him had been carrying. The woman comes out onto the small patio and the actual him talk.

The narrator comes on and explains what a doppleganger is.
