The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

The Hunter wants to cut out Rian's tongue but the Chamberlain says he has to take Rian to the Emjperor and then the Hunter can do what he wants. The Chamberlain takes the essence bottle from Rian and drinks Mira's essence.

Then there's another toilet joke when one guy wants the Al-Maudra about stepping in Landstrider dung. (Not necessary at all to have this.)

The Landstriders have gone nuts. Hup is having a lot of self-doubts. The Skeksis demand that the Al-Maudra give them 7 Gelfling volunteers from each clan to help them fight the rebellion but it's obvious that they just want them so that they can drain them.

The Chamberlain tells Rian that the Skeksis have conquered death. The Chamberlain convinces Rian to claim he killed Mira.

Aughra is trying to get in contact with Thra but nothing she does seems to work. Then something really interesting happens and Aughra gets an idea of what she is supposed to do.

Deet wants to meet the Al-Maudra but she figures she can't dressed in poor clothes. Hup steals a fancy dress for her. Rian gets rescued.

Seladon contniues to self-centered nasty ways.Aughra finally hears the song of Thra. She seems to be in the Castle along with Deet and Rian. Then the Al-Maudra and others join them and Aughra talks to them. Seladon shows up and speaks against Aughra.

Seladon betrays the group that has organized to fight the Skeksis. The Skeksis kill the Al-Maudra.

Okay. First, Aughra has made contact with Thra and is in tune with the planet. Why doesn't she try to turn the planet against the Skeksis? Why doesn't she talk about finding a way to get Thra to heal itself? If you have the power to fight evil then use it!

Then there's Seladon. Her mother is murdered right in front of her and she gets mad at her sister and blames her and not the Skeksis for the murder? That is one seriously demented sister.

Also, if they can unite the Gelfling clans (and at this point I don't know if they do) then why not just surround the castle and prevent the Skeksis from leaving? They are more than welcome to starve to death.

Maybe someone will think of that in one of the last five episodes. I hope they do, anyhow.
