Victoria Winters

This is another pre-Barnabas story and for once the cover does not have him on it.

Victoria has been at Collinwood for a year. She's twenty years old, and she and Earnest, the one she hopes to marry, are writing while he's on tour.

Some people want to rent his house for a while. Victoria doesn't like the guy, Henry Francis. It's not long before things start happening and Victoria screams quite a bit. There is a woman named Stella who died, but Victoria has a problem since it seems she has seen Stella in the house and near the house.

Burke Devlin helps Victoria find out about Francis and it turns out he's not what he claims to be at all. Meanwhile Victoria keeps seeming to be attacked. In addition to the attacks (and the screaming) it seems that a kidnapping might be involved. That's quite a bit for Victoria to deal with and it all produces a very good book which is basically a mystery with a little bit of the supernatural thrown in.
