Barnabas, Quentin and the Frightened Bride

A bride and her husband, who is suffering from shell shock from WWI, travel to Collinsport. They are having a house built there and plan to live there. The story goes into how she met her husband and the type of trouble he is having.

They end up staying at Collinwood and, as expected, things go bad fairly quickly. There is something called the Hayward Curse (she's the Hayward) and she senses that someone is watching her with extreme hatred. Then she sees a large wolf and meets Simeon who also is a hater. Fortunately she meets Barnabas who helps her as much as he can but is under suspicion by the townfolk of attacking young women like a vampire would.

It's a good story. The bride is a very strong woman, surviving things that are terrifying but still managing to carry on. Quentin plays a fairly small but still important role in the story.
