Glorious Basterds

This book continues the story of the rise of Scorpius in the invader's ranks. They turn out to be more powerful than he thought, though, and his very continued existence seems to be called into question all of the time. Things aren't going as well as he likes, though, and he has to make a decision whether or not to stay with the aliens or escape and find the remnants of the Peacekeepers and join up with them.

Then there is also, he notes, the existence of John Crichton who always seems to have an unexpected effect upon things.

A good story. In these two books we seen just how vicious Scorpius can be and how many beings he is willing to have killed in order to keep his own position alive.
