Guardian Angel Getten

A 14-year old boy, Shichiri Tasuke, is left alone at home almost all the time by his parents. He's shy and withdrawn. One day he receives a gift from his father (who is in China at the time) and it turns out to be a magical ring. From the ring emerges a guardian spirit, Getten, who swears to stay by his side forever.

The problem is she is somewhat out of date, having lived in the ring for hundreds of years so she has lots of trouble adjusting to the new world that she enters, causing trouble for Shichiri who, as shy as he is, (and undecisive as the typical male in this type of situation), doesn't know how to respond to her.

He even runs the risk of losing her to a rival in the first manga.

This is an ok manga but not something that really grabbed my attention that much. I can't really even say just why it doesn't interest me as much as some others; perhaps further volumes will develop the storyline so it will be a "must read" manga rather then an "I'll read it as soon as I finish these other two" type of manga.
