All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku

Have you ever noticed that there is not a lot of anime that begins with someone urinating against a wall in a dirty alley? Well, this one does!

And from that point on you have one series of wild adventures after another! The boy who was urinating finds a cat in the garbage and shows it to his father who is sitting in their car. A plane appears and attacks the car, shooting everything up and killing the cat. Ryunosuke, the boy, is heart broken and shows the cat to his father, who just happens to be a computer and robotics expert. He places the brain of the cat into an android body creating Nuku Nuku, the cat girl.

Nuku Nuku now is, externally at least (until she raises her ears), a very attractive young teenage girl. She has enrolled in school and creates quite a sensation among the male members. She also rides her bike to school at incredible speeds.

We learn that the boy's mother is the head of a major robotics company, and is divorced from the father. She has a couple of female underlings (read flunkies) who prove to be permanent foils in the series.

In episode 2 Nuku Nuku goes to the beach where she finds out that cats and water don't mix very well. The ex-wife is again trying to get hold of the son and keep him She manages to get him on board her boat. The father fixes Nuku Nuku so she can swim and she goes towards the boat to get the son back but is attacked by a mech under water.

One thing leads to another and it ends up the son attempts to rescue his mother from a disaster, and both end up being rescued by Nuku Nuku.

Episode 3 finds the mother trying to live with the father and to be the perfect, subservient, do-all-the-chores-and-cooking housewife. Unfortunately she is a terrible cook; perhaps beyond terrible, come to think of it.

The mother's assistants don't like her changing and finally convince her to stop what she is doing, so she dons another mech and attacks Nuku Nuku. The father joins in the fight and massive destruction ensues.

Episode 4: Mother's day is coming up and Ruynosuke wants to buy his mother some flowers and wants her and his father to eat supper together.

A plane appears and crashes into a building. It turns out the plane is piloted by a little girl who asks to be protected from the evil people at the robotics company. It turns out she is not exactly what she seems to be, and she and Nuku Nuku end up getting in a fight that manages to leave a massive crater where part of the city had been. Nuku Nuku is enjoying herself and likes having someone to play with that's on her own physical level.

Review and rating: This is an extremely funny and enjoyable anime. Despite the destruction no one (except the cat in episode 1) really gets hurt. There are a lot of strong comedic elements running throughout the series, and there is a lot of wild action with mechs, planes, boats, and whatever. The only bad thing is that this is again another one of the limited anime series, so we have to enjoy the episodes that do exist and pretty much forget about any others ever being made.

Episode 5: Nuku Nuku goes to work at a restaurant. This is one of the funniest, wildest of all the episodes. All the male customers are drooling over Nuku Nuku, (even when she takes a nap on top of a table), but two women (guess who?) decide to get revenge and attack Nuku Nuku, blowing up the restaurant which just happens to belong to their boss!

Episode 6: Nuku Nuku in space, attempting to stop an orbiting satellite from killing Akkiko from space. Trouble is, Nuku Nuku must handle the satellite and android Eimi, still out for her own form of revenge and mayhem!

Rating: I give Nuku Nuku 4 1/2 stars out of 5. Funny, entertaining, lots of action yet with a good story line. Extremely limited nudity.
