(There are some very cheesy special effects in this video and the related ones. There's also a lot of staged shooting where you know for sure that it wasn't actually filmed at Pearl Harbor during the attack.)

The film notes that the Japanese had attacked the harbor when the US carriers were elsewhere, and they severely underestimated the speed at which the US would be able to fix up and/or replace the damaged ships.

The video says that, as a result of the raid, the Japanese decided to go ahead with the capture of Port Moresby, rather than invade the Soviet Union and link up with the Nazi army.
The battle of the Coral Sea. Technically, the battle was a victory for Japan, but their invasion fleet was turned back, so in that sense it was a loss for Japan.
