Japanese and Korean Exclusion League, February, 1907

This is a publication from the Japanese and Korean Exclusion League, which later became the Asiatic Exclusion League.

The President of the League goes after Teddy Roosevelt:

“President Roosevelt has heaped odium and insults on the people of California in an effort to placate the Mikado.”

There were 224 organizations associated with the League at that time, 197 of them labor groups. That's around 87%, which means that labor continued to make up some 87 or 88& of the organization membership for a long time.

They print their reply to the President about his argument with them over their decision to segregate all the Japanese students into an Oriental-only school.

To give the reader an idea of the mental mindset of the League, one of the sections of the proceedings deals with “Coolies on Panama Canal.”

4 1/2 pages of the report deal with financial matters.
