Episode 2: The Fake Camp

Yuka is at work in the department store. One of the male workers, a section supervisor, is interested in her and is trying to get her to go out on a date with him. She likes Mr. Matsushima who offers to take her to lunch.

Kana and Tenko are at school. Kana has made a fake announcement for a camp outing to be held on a Saturday. The real idea is that both girls would get boys and be alone with them all night.

Machinko and Yumiko are at the house eating. Yumiko talks about when she was younger and how she faked a camp outing to go out with a boy all night. Machiko begins to wonder about Kana and the camp. Later, Nao finds out that Kana is lying about the camp.

Machiko walks past the ramen shop and talks to Koyangi. It's incredibly obvious about his feelings for her but she doesn't have any idea that he is interested in her.

Yuka is doing some grocery shopping and runs into Matsushima. She talks about how her sisters and her mother share the cooking duties and he invites her out to dinner some night that she is not doing the cooking at home.

Kana is walking home after dark and starts to pass a place, saying that she wants to have a beer. There's a motorcycle out front and it's Tooru's. They walk together for a while and he apologizes for Kimura's actions. The two go to eat at the restaurant that Tooru is working at and she gets some yakitori and beer.

Back home Nao lets Yuka and the dentist Maruyama that the camp outing is a fake that was printed out on Yuka's computer. A little later the three are eating at the table when Kana gets home. The dentist and Yuka try to convince Kana not to go to the camp. Meanwhile, Machinko, also at the table, becomes more suspicious.

Kana goes to her room and calls Tooru and asks him to go out with her on Saturday. He tells her that he has hockey practice and invites her to come to the session. Meanwhile Machiko is outside the door and overhears the conversation, thinking that this is the boy that Kana plans to spend all night with instead of going to the camp. She doesn't know that it's Tooru, though, and thinks it is Koji.

The next day she goes to the school and confronts Koji. She slaps him and he tells her that he had planned to spend the night with Kana but that the plans fell through. He also says he did not call Kana the previous night so Machiko apologizes and tries to figure out who really called.

Kana and Tenko are eating outside at a sidewalk cafe and both say that the Saturday idea is off since they couldn't find any boys to be with.

Kana goes to Tooru's restaurant and talks to him. Machiko sees them. Tooru mentions about seeing Kana Saturday and Machiko jumps to the wrong conclusion. Kana leaves and Machiko enters the restaurant which is filled with lots of people drinking and being rather loud. When a person orders and item the guys working at the grill all yell out the name of the item loudly, adding to the general din in the place.

Yuka and Matsushima come to the restaurant and enter. Yuka sees her mother chugging sake. Machiko is quite drunk and spills sake on a man who then calls her a hag. Tooru comes out and tries to placate the guy, saying that Machiko is his older sister. Yuka calls out to her mother and ends up getting very embarrassed by her.

The next day Machiko has a horrible hangover. Yumiko comes over and orders some ramen for them. Koyangi brings it over himself and stays there to prepare the food.

Later Machiko returns to the eatery and she tells Tooru that she is Kana's mother. She still thinks that Tooru and Kana are going to spend the night together and she gets him to promise her that they won't go all the way. Tooru promises even though he doesn't really know what Machiko is talking about.

That Saturday Kana comes to the arena and watches Tooru play ice hockey. That night Machiko, Yuka and Nao are eating salted fish egg salad at home and it's too spicy for them.

At the same time Tooru takes Kana to a restaurant featuring spicy food. He tells her that he's had job offers from several businesses but really wants to become a professional ice hockey player with an American team.

The scene shifts to Machiko, Yuka and Nao playing cards. Machiko starts to lose and ends up laughing and messing the cards up on the table.

Tooru and Kana are walking at night. She says she can spend the entire night out and asks him if he wants to do "it" with her. She says she believes that he has already had sex with Tenko but he tells her that they didn't do anything like that at all. Tooru and Kana kiss. Machiko and Yuka are staying up, seeing if Kana comes home. Kana arrives and tells her mother that she lied about the camp and says that she has someone she wants her mother to meet (she doesn't know that Machiko has already met Tooru.) Machiko goes outside and talks to him and he tells her that he thinks Kana is very special.

Machiko goes back into the house and goes to Kana's bedroom to talk to her. Kana finds out that Machiko had already met Tooru and gotten him to agree to not having sex with her. They end up getting into a pillow fight and are joined by the other two daughters. Yumiko appears and complains about the noise. The daughters and Machiko are hungry so they go to the ramen shop.
