Surrender in the Pacific

Sept., 1945; an American flag flies in Tokyo.

The film shows American troops walking in Tokyo. It also shows destroyed areas of Tokyo and other cities, and a piece of antiquated fire-fighting equipment that the Japanese tried to use to stop the incendiary fires.

The film then talks about an educational program designed to “convince the Japs of their war guilt.” American planes fly over the Imperial Palace, “reminding it's heaven-borne tenant who was boss.”
