Windtalkers

This is a World War II film dealing with the Navajo code-talkers; the code they used was never broken by the Japanese.

In the film, Joe Enders has a group of men under command, and all but he end up getting killed, and he is badly wounded. He manages to heal, somewhat, and gets back into the war, this time in charge of one of two Navajo code-talkers with the group.

His orders are to protect the code at all costs. This includes killing the code-talker if he is in danger of being captured by the Japanese. He ends up having to kill one of the two code-talkers.

The film is extremely graphic; this is not a film for anyone who is squemish. It ranks right up there with the most gory horror films done, but in this one the horror is the real horror of war.

I will not go into what is shown in detail, but if you are sensitive at all I guarantee some of the scenes will upset you.

Yet, with all that, it's still a very good movie. It shows just how desperate the fighting was on the various islands in WWII, and how both sides were reduced to extreme brutality in killing.
