Return to the Labyrinth manga

This is a sequel to the movie Labyrinth. Sarah has grown up and has become a teacher. Toby has grown up and is still in school. He's kind of a clutz, not really good at anything. He's a nice person, but isn't really very good at anything.

What he does not know is that goblins have been watching over him and helping him from time to time. He ends up back at the labyrinth which he has to make his way through, much as Sarah did, and in the process he meets many of the characters she did including Sir Didymus and his dog, Lupo, goblins (of course), and Hoggle, who is now a prince.

There is also a new character, a woman who is royalty and isn't very nice at all. She expects some day to take over the ruling of the labyrinth.

We also find out how old Jareth really is, and what his plans for Toby are. It's a good start to the series.

Jareth finds out that the peasants a revolting. There's a queen he goes to see. We learn that the goblin king can't leave the labyrinth unless he is summoned. So he has to figure out a way to do that. Easy. Quite being king, turn it over to Toby and he can go where he wants to and you can guess where that is.

We also find out the origin of Moppet who is the slave, basically, to the major. She become a target for murder. Toby calls her 'Sarah.'

The story is moving along quite well. We learn something new about the labyrinth, something new Jareth and a lot about Moppet. A good second volume in this four-volume series.

The book covers how much Sarah changed after her adventure in the Labyrinth. Most of her memories of what happened are gone.

Moppet (the woman in the goblin mask) and Sarah really belong together as Moppet was basically made from Sarah. If one dies, both die.

Jareth is basically stalking Sarah. She may, or may not, have some kind of relationship with a guy. The major thing is that the evil Queen stages a coup. Overall an interesting third story in the series. The thing is that this series is much more serious, quite much more serious than the movie. Much darker.
