Aftershock in New York
The first part of the movie is about the main characters. There's a married couple where the wife is terrified of earthquakes; the family used to live in California. There's some kind of major argument between the mayor and the fire chief. There's a young woman that is studying to become a ballerina, and there's a woman who is a public defender.
The earthquake itself starts 38 minutes in the movie (there had been a couple of very minor earthquakes earlier but this is the big one here). The main quake lasts about five minutes or so causing massive destruction.
The graphics are not bad and the damage is really major. It's probably the equivalent of what the 'big one' would do to Los Angeles.
Then the film deals with what happens to the main characters after the main earthquake stops.
The film also shows the darker side of human behavior as looters start taking things.
Not all of the main characters make it to the end of the film alive.
