My poetry, page 2

Dreamman

Where, for journey's end,
of silent rainbows flourishing
masking light the emptiness of skies
and speaking soft of times that will not be
I walk as if in dream suspended
my story now, untold to thee

Thought

We will not be civilized
until we can live at peace
both Within and Without
ourselves

Wind

Wind gently blowing through fields of grain
Flowers bending their heads at the kiss of rain
Birds riding the quiet breeze on gliding wings
Sunlight filtering through the canopy of the leaves
Peace and Love
dwell in the solitude of the forest
God's gift to the family of man.

The Legend of Shawn McGuire

It was silent on the thistledowns
when Shawn McGuire came
he heard the wind a' blowin'
and a' calling' out his name

"What is it you might want with me?
Shawn's voice did ring aloud
"I want you for my lover"
said a dark and dismal cloud

"But clouds can't love, and I'm a man"
he said for his reply
"I'm homeward bound, my wife to see,
the truth I won't deny"

The cloud grew large and silent fell
from the trembling night-time air
there was no one to help him then
though such might seem unfair

for Shawn had lived a godly life
helped others near and far
but the cloud it rose to the waiting sky
for a far and distant star

the legend lives to the present day
of the cloud that loved a man
and took him to her fairy world
in a far and distant land.

The Fight

Twas a cold day in December
Many a year ago
When the Cyberman met the Dalek
in the drifting winter snow

The Ref he was the Master
all sinister in black
"Begin" he shouted loudly
then took a few steps back.

"Your mother is a pepper pot"
the Cyberman did decree
"And you are made of Reynold's wrap
said the Dalek pointedly.

"Your insides are so ugly"
the Cyberman did say
"If you looked into a mirror
You'd throw yourself away."

The Dalek he was fuming
"Exterminate!" he'd cry
The Cyberman just shook his head
and threw a large mud pie.

It landed on the eyestalk
and forced the Dalek back
The Cyberman picked up a club
then hit a thunderous whack

The Dalek it went spinning
And stopped quite far away
"I'll get you yet" its voice was heard
"We'll fight another day."

"Why not now?" the Cyberman cried
"We've time enough, I say."
"I must go home," the Dalek said,
"The Doctor's on today."
