The Cone of Power

One term referred to in Wiccan circles is the "Cone of Power". This is the concept in which people in the coven work together to raise energy, and then direct this energy to its target.

One of the sayings in the metaphysical community is that two people raising energy does not double the energy, but squares it to four times the power. Three people raise it to nine times the power, and so on. From what I have seen in my own experience, this definitely seems to be true.

Witches, of course, are not the only ones to raise a cone of power. Other people do the same thing but just use another name. A healing group I was in would end almost every session with people standing in a circle, holding hands, raising energy. They would call out names of people who needed help, and this energy would then go to those people.

What are people doing who raise a cone of power? You can look at it as use of the Force, as in Star Wars. You can consider it as using the human energy fields in a directed way. No matter how you consider it the purpose is the same- to raise energy. The best use of such energy, of course, is for remote healing. The energy can be raised in the group similar to the way a cyclotron works.

People in the circle hold hands and visualize the energy flowing from one person to another, faster and faster. One person becomes the designated "sender" of the energy and all of the groups energy is channeled through that person in one burst of healing power directed towards another person at a distance, or at another person close by, perhaps even within the circle itself. The ultimate purpose is to direct the maximum amount of energy possible towards that person in an attempt to help them in some way or the other.
