Using Crystals in Healing

Crystals have been used for many thousands of years as part of healing rituals. They are relatively easily available, inexpensive, and often quite effective.

Crystals can be used directly on the chakras, on areas that need work, in meditation, scrying, and a variety of other ways.

There are a number of ways to use crystals in healing.

1. Have your crystals set up as a permanent medicine wheel. A listing of crystals for the various months include:

2. You can wear jewelry featuring crystals that are important to you, or that are necessary to reestablish balance in some area of your physical or spiritual life. A good combination is turquoise set in silver.

3. You can hang up crystals on necklaces in various places in your house to help provide grounding, add energy, set up protection, etc.

4. You can put crystals in your medicine bag. I carry an obsidian crystal in mine to help in grounding.

5. You can put crystals of various colors onto photographs to use in healing.

6. When working on healing someone, you can have them lie down and place crystals of the appropriate nature on the parts of the body that need healing, and on the chakras to help balance them.

7. When doing a meditation, you can hold a chunk of amethyst to help calm you.

8. Crystals can be used in the construction of a psionic rod.

There are different ways to keep your crystal collection. One way is to put them in Rubbermaid or Tupperware containers, labeling them on the outside. You can also place them in Ziploc plastic bags, writing the name on the outside.

CRYSTAL MEDITATION

Look through your crystal collection, and see if any of them are "calling" to you. Take that crystal out and hold it in your hands. Sit in a comfortable position with the light dim, and gentle music playing in the background (such as Nature songs or Enya music).

Look at the stone in your hands. Mentally focus your mind and seek to enter the crystal. Fuse with the spirit of the crystal. See yourself and the crystal together sinking into the ground, deep, deep, until you reach a large underground cavern.

The cavern seems to be lined with other crystals, their colors and shapes breathtaking in their magnificence. Watch the crystal that came with you. It will move away from you slowly, and will stop in the center of the cavern. Lights from the other crystals will flare out and converge at the central crystal.

Gradually the crystal form will change, and the spirit of the crystal will reveal itself to you. Greet it politely, and ask the spirit if it has any messages for you.

Listen carefully to whatever it has to say to you. Feel free to ask questions and share your own feelings with the crystal.

When you have finished thank the spirit of the crystal for receiving you. Watch as the spirit returns to the crystal, and the crystal moves back into your hands. Now concentrate and see the both of you rising back up through the earth, returning to your original position.

Place the crystal back with your others, again thanking it for its help.
