Tao Te Ching: The Classic Book of Integrity and the Way

Translation by: Victor H. Mair
Year: 1990
Introduction? Yes.
Analysis of passages? No
First line: The ways that can be walked are not the eternal Way.
Special traits: The book presents the Te section first, verses 38-81, and then the Tao section, the first 37 verses. There are no explanations with the versions, but there is a section on Notes and Commentary, followed by an afterward consisting of pages on Did Lao Tsu Exist?; the Meaning of the Title and Other Key Words; parallels between Taoism and Yoga, and Sinological Usages and Principles of Translation, in addition to an Appendix and a Selected Bibliography.
