Trapped in the Sky
This is the first episode of Thunderbirds.
The evil guy's digs.
This guy is the evil character. He says his brother is in the midst of International Rescue. He wants to know their “secrets”, thinking they will make him rich.
The guy's brother who he thinks he can control from a distance.
The evil guy's eyes light up like a Goa'uld from Stargate SG-1. His brother is trying to resist him.
Typical of the neat models they used in the series.
A guy sets a bomb in an atomic-powered plane.
Their space station overhears the distress calls.
They get ready to go to the rescue.
Thunderbird 1 gets airborne.
They realize they are going to need heavy rescue, and Thunderbird 2 gets ready.
Thunderbird 1 launches from underneath a swimming pool, while Thunderbird 2 is in a cave and launches from there. It moves from there to a tilting launch platform.
More of the aircraft models.
The idea is to take the guy from the military craft and get him into the wheel-well of the passenger craft so he can deal with the bomb. The airplane is atomic powered and apparently there is some kind of shield that will wear out if not worked on and the passengers could be exposed to radiation.
The military craft uses this device to tow target craft, but they've adapted it so the guy can hold on to it while it's extended from the plane. The attempt doesn't work and the guy falls from the plane but parachutes to safety.
Thunderbird 1 arrives at the scene.
The evil guy sneaks into Thunderbird 1 and is taking photos.
Thunderbird 2 arrives.
The type of thing that can be carried in a cargo container on Thunderbird 2.
There is also an International Rescue agent in London.
The plane starts to make its approach to the airport where Thunderbird 2 has set up elevator cars.
The first attempt doesn't work when one of the elevator cars goes out of control.
The second attempt, the plane landing with landing gear up, using the elevator cars as a landing platform and that way not setting off the bomb.
They brake so hard the tires on the cars blow up and the main car goes out of control.
The plane stops barely before going off the runway.
Lady Penelope's car chases after the evil guy.
The car carries its own armament.
Which is quite capable of blowing up the car with the evil guy in it. (He isn't killed, though, despite the fact that his car undergoes two explosives and drives off a cliff.)
