City of Fire

Some incredibly tall building.

This is a news-craft talking about the 350 floor building that is like a self-contained city. 10,000 autos can be parked in its underground parking garage.

Brains has developed some type of gas that can be used in a blowtorch and that works faster than a laser, although he points out it's still experimental and they don't know if there will be any side-effects on the users.

Both the guys in the experiment faint.

The building, seen from a distance.

A woman driving a car (and she's just been given a ticket for bad driving), enters the underground parking garage, confuses the gas pedal with the brake pedal, goes out of control and crashes, starting a fire.

The car explodes, the explosion setting off a whole series of explosions.

A family was looking for the monorail and entered a room they shouldn't have entered.

Various units arrive to fight the fire but they're put on standby. Meanwhile, the various systems the building has to stop the fire on its own fail one-by-one.

The fire begins to spread through the building itself.

There's some really neat shots here with the building on fire and something inside of it exploding.

The fireworks display continues. The tower calls Thunderbird 5 and asks for help. (As much emphasis as there has been in the first two episodes of the series on keeping International Rescue a secret, how did the tower people find out about them?)

Both Thunderbirds 1 and 2 respond to the call.

The entire tower is engulfed in flames, but everyone has been evacuated except for the family in the basement.

Thunderbird 1 arrives.

The firetrucks all pull back as the building is near collapse.

What is exploding in the building? Were they manufacturing bombs or something, because there have been a LOT of explosions. Neat effects, yes, but one wonders what would be exploding like that in an actual building.

The tower collapses.

Thunderbird 2 gets there. They will have to use the gas from the experiment to cut through the steel doors of the corridor.

They are going to have to clear some rubble out of the way first.

The bulldozer also has a cannon attached so that it can blow up parts that are resistant to being pushed away.

The mole is going to be used to get down to the level of the corridor.

They have to cut through a series of doors to get to the trapped people.

Tintin reads a newspaper article which thanks International Rescue, so apparently they aren't as secret as they seemed.
