Judging Amy is one of the best shows that I have seen. All of the characters are good (even if you don't like the character) and the stories are well done. The show is balanced between events revolving around Amy's home life and around Amy's life in the courtroom.
Tyne Daly, playing Amy's mother, does an acting job that is even better than that she performed in the Cagney & Lacey series. She is such a "real" character. She can play pathos and still throw in really comical lines like in the Thanksgiving episode where, appearing obviously a little tipsy, the mother she plays says something like "We've all been drinking." Just the way she delivered the line was absolutely hilarious!
This is a must-see show. Do not miss Tyne Daly in what may be her finest performances yet!
