A Journey to the New World: The Diary of Remember Patience Whipple
There are two parts to this book; the first concerns her trip the New World, and the second concerns her life there after her arrival, the first part being much shorter than the second.
Their life on board ship is told realistically, especially the conditions they had to live under and the fact that some people never finished the trip alive. The harshness of their lives even after landing is also shown, as Patience goes through a lot including the death of her own mother and nearly dying herself.
As is usual with the books in this series the stories are always interesting, their historical context fascinating, and excellent factual historical information is also included.
