The Ghost of Blackwood Hall

The story involves a number of people being scammed out of money. They are led to believe that they are hearing voices of deceased loved ones who encourage them to 'donate' money to an orphanage.

Which doesn't exist, of course. They even try to scare some of the people off of having anything to do with Nancy. There's quite a few characters in the story, more than in a usual Nancy Drew story.

There's also a 'haunted' place called Blackwood Hall which figures into the story. Both Ned and her own father help Nancy try to solve the mystery. There's also a stolen car, a strange symbol and a seemingly hypnotized girl who nearly drowns herself. It makes for one of the more complicated and better stories in the series.
