This is the third book in the Nancy Drew series. The book I'm reviewing is the 1988 printing of the revised text done in 1960.
This is another inheritance-related mystery. Laura is an orphan but has jewels and other money. Mr. Drew is investigating some stolen securities and bonds from a bank. There are people who are supposed to be Laura's guardians, but they are not at all what they appear to be.
The two situations are related, and Nancy is kept quite busy checking out various leads, being hit and knocked out, being tied up, working with her father and the police, and trying to protect Laura and assure she gets what is rightfully hers.
The crooks are suitably nasty and the story well done.
