The Mystery at Lilac Inn

This is the 1961 text version of the book. There is a 1931 text version but it's substantially different than the later one.

In the later text Nancy becomes involved in investigating the difficulties at an inn. There are things that are seen and heard, and things that are stolen, including some valuable jewels. The money is needed for fixing the inn up.

There's also skin-diving, various attempts on Nancy's life, an entire gang of crooks to deal with, a submarine and a boat that's sinking. It's a fairly complex case and a good one. The 1931 text version is actually not done as well as the revised text.
