1001 Arabian Nights

This is the Zenescope version of the stories. I wasn't actually particularly interested in this one, since the Arabian Nights have never interested me that much, but I am glad I got the book as the stories are very well done and the artwork is also very well done.

Sinbad turns out to be a believable hero, his crew are interesting, and the enemies he runs across are also interesting. There's also a good cover gallery section.

1001 Arabian Nights #7

This issue is a story of jealousy, Belinda interfering as usual, and a definite story along the lines of be-careful-what-you-wish-for. It's a fairly overdone type of story and almost seems like this is a throw-away issue put out to fill space.

Arabian Nights #8

Sinbad and his companions are in a bar in a town. Sinbad is trying to get a lead on where a piece of the amulet he's looking for could be found. As expected, there ends up being a major bar fight which Sinbad and his friends win.

There's also someone that gets introduced by throwing Sinbad around. She's someone he knows who he calls Oz. She's a woman with a bow-and-arrow and a rather sad looking large dog.

As usual, the story is interesting and the artwork excellent.

Arabian Nights 9

Sinbad and his group prepare to go into the desert to search for the Lost City and someone is trying to slow them down. Meanwhile, a Sultan from Sinbad's past arrives in the city determined to kill Sinbad. The group no sooner gets underway then they are attack by the bar-dwellers from the previous night and they manage to defeat them, but suddenly a huge hole opens up beneath them and they fall into the hole.

This is a fair amount of stuff happening for one issue.

Arabian Nights 10

The group finds themselves underground in a pool of water. The falcon is released to go to the surface and find the remaining two members of their group. Before long, they find the City of the Dead, which is good, and they find the evil being that lives there, which is bad. Very bad.

The ground underground gets attacked by giant scorpions and an army of skeletons, which the two on the surface are attacked by a dust storm. There's also various things going on in the background back in the city.

Arabian Nights #11

Those on the surface are seeking shelter from the storm, while those underground are still fighting the army of the dead. The graphics are really good, as usual. There's still something going on in the city with the Sultan, and the battle underground takes a turn for the worse when some kind of gas is released.

Arabian Nights #12

The group underground succumbs to the gas. The situation in the city is covered with the guy still wanting to kill Sinbad. When the underground group wake up they run into the big baddie who appears to be virtually indestructible.

There's a furious battle between the group and the evil villain and the villain proves to be formidable indeed.

Arabian Nights #13

The fight gets worse as the villain proves to be incredibly strong. Unfortunately for him, he's not incredibly smart. He focused entirely on those attacking directly and doesn't notice that there are others in the group that are not in front of him. The two from the surface have found their way underground and join in the battle, catching mummy-man unawares.

The situation changes rapidly and the villain falls to those who are better than himself.

We also find out about yet another woman Sinbad has had sex with and gotten in trouble for.
