Vine-wrapped pole

Tuesday, October 1, 2002: There is a slight colour-change in the grass...! I cleared the basement out and sold everything to Tom Nook that I had been saving up. The way to REALLY please a friend is to send a gift of *clothes* in the mail! They will all wear the outfit you send them for *days*! Kiki and Mint especially raved! I had to take Grizzly's watch to him in Harmony, but misjudged the store and waking times (aarrgghhh). I gathered seashells, talked to residents, and otherwise killed time until Tom Nook's opened. I sold the cherries I had brought, bought some stationery and wrote letters, sold the seashells, gathered oranges to take home, and *finally* delivered the watch--Grizzly doesn't wake up until 10am. Back home I learned Goose had moved to Harmony. Still working on the orchards. Sarah visited LarkRise today (she encountered Blanca on the train also!). As a result Belle moved from Harmony to LarkRise. I finally designed some clothes (made textures) to put in the Able Sisters' shop! I made what I call "M-Appeal" (a fancy letter M from a counted cross-stitch design) and also "Teddy Bear" (which is also from a counted cross-stitch design). Mallary moved to LarkRise today.

Wednesday, October 2, 2002: Blanca was still in my town this morning! Tom Nook's is closed for remodelling. ::sigh:: I took goods to Apple to sell. I met Blanca on the train. Her face had come off AGAIN, so I had to draw her another one! It's raining in Apple: should be a good fishing day. I meant to look at the wallpaper sale that Tom Nook was having in Apple; but that, I found out, wasn't going to happen until later in the day. I meant to carry along letters I had received from Apple-ites to answer, but forgot them. I meant to get some of Cat'r's designs from his Able Sisters shop, but I had forgotten to clear space in my own inventory for them so couldn't do that *either*. Boy, was this a disastrous trip! Oh, and I made a very tiny profit on selling turnips that I had purchased last Sunday. I did fish and gather seashells and sell them there in Apple. I also bought packets of flowers at Tom Nook's (with Cat'r permission--he said he wasn't planning on buying them) and gathered peaches to take home. Found Cousteau had moved to Apple when I got home. I also found the Blanca that *Sarah* had drawn a face for wandering around LarkRise. Weird! Are the Blancas clones? I took some furniture to the island and brought home coconuts. I planted them all along the southern shore of LarkRise (an idea I got from something Cat'r had said he was planning on doing).

Mousie raises the M-Appeal flag on Seafoam Island!

Went back to Apple in the evening, to try to hit Tom Nook's wallpaper sale. He only had two kinds (!) of wallpaper and nothing else for sale! Sold cherries there. I fished a LOT there in the evening. And I caught a coelacanth!!! and other big-ticket fish. Sold them for lots of Bells.

Catching a coelacanth!!!

I was also able to get the three textures/designs of Cat'r's from the Able Sisters this time, having made space in that part of my inventory before coming to Apple in the evening. Back home again: Kiki moved to Apple. :-(  Of all the people I did NOT want to leave LarkRise, it was her. ::sniff:: Spent a lot of time at the Able Sisters shop in my town getting  and saving duplicates of all the designs. Somehow I LOST one of the shop's designs, so I had to race to Harmony (where Sarah had not fiddled with any of the designs) before Tom Nook's closed (no point in making a trip if you can't also sell things). Blanca was on the train *again*. Poor thing! In Harmony I was able to get the "lost" design/texture--ice cream vendor, I think it's called--at the Able Sisters shop. I also talked with Aziz and Goose. I really miss having Aziz in my town. He just seems to be a cut above everyone else. Oh, also got a plant from him. His house is full of plants--very gorgeous home he has! Also I wrote letters to people there in Harmony, then picked some oranges and came home. Back home it didn't *look* like anyone else had left town. I got everything squared away at LarkRise's Able Sisters shop. I was up late, walking around...I met Blanca in my town again. She said she is not allowed to say where she is from! Wow, sounds mysterious!

Thursday, October 3, 2002: Sprocket moved in overnight. Tom Nook's Nookway opened at 9am. Sold all the stuff I had been stashing in my house. Also had him paint my roof red (my pretty sky-blue roof had been repainted an ugly brown by Mint). Sarah visited LarkRise. Afterwards Grizzly moved BACK to LarkRise from Harmony! Planted lots of fruit trees. Finally got the town in shape enough for the Wishing Well to be satisfied with how the town is doing/feeling. Fishing, bug-catching, etc. I saw Blanca in LarkRise several times/places today. Apparently we're only allowed to receive three items via code at a time/day. Tom Nook couldn't let me have a fourth item a friend had coded to me. Oh well, tomorrow. Fishing, running errands for people, etc.

Friday, October 4, 2002: Yay! Good day so far. :-) Patrolled the town (a la Sarah) to make sure all weeds were pulled, all fossils dug out, etc.; then checked with the Wishing Well. It's still satisfied. :-) Sold lots of stuff at Tom Nook's at 9am. Bought stuff too. Gathered/filled my inventory with fruit, then headed for Seafoam Island to do the "fruit scheme". I made 47,400 Bells on it! *This* is when I began thinking I might be able to pay off the loan for my second expansion/remodelling today. Ran errands, planted fruit and flowers (town beautification). Had a *phenomenal* run of luck on ocean fishing in the late morning/noontide!!! The barred knifejaws and red snappers were just *jumpin'* onto my hook! PAID OFF MY 398,000 Bell LOAN!!! Immediately ran over to Tom Nook's and asked him for the final remodelling--a second floor! It'll be complete tomorrow. :-) Kitt moved into LarkRise. She's *really* nice. :-)  Running errands, fishing. Some midnight fishing. Scared Fang accidentally: he thought I was a ghost! heh Went to town after 2am, looking for ghosts. No show. But there was GOOD FISHING again tonight! Caught several barred knifejaws and red snappers in the ocean; and my second angelfish from the river (the first was donated to the museum). All these fish are temporarily stored in my second story! YES! It was completed by 3am! However it's smaller than my first floor. It's the size my first floor was after the first expansion/remodelling. Also it had charcoal tile floor, which I covered with palace tile, which I happened to have lying around in the basement. It still has concrete wall--ugh. Must get wallpaper, ANY wallpaper, at Nookway tomorrow! Maybe other flooring too.

Saturday, October 5, 2002: Sold stuff (mostly FISH!) at Nookway. Got some wallpaper that sorta goes okay with the palace tile I have on the second floor. I *want* to make this a bedroom, but at present it is more another living room with lots of gyroids in it. :-p Went to my island to pick up some furniture. Back at home, I put an eagle totem pole (for Sarah) and a folk guitar and cabin wardrobe (these two for Cat'r) in my Personal Gyroid Assistant (he resides outside my front door. Each house for humans has one). Got caught up on writing letters. Ran errands for people. Planted a shovel into a "golden hole", hoping for a golden shovel tree! Cat'r visited LarkRise. Afterwards Tom moved back to LarkRise from Apple. :-)  Sarah also visited LarkRise. And then Groucho moved from Harmony to LarkRise. In the evening I got "K.K. Ballad" from K.K. Slider at the train station. Listening to him sing is a magical experience... :-)  Fishing, talking to townsfolk.

Sunday, October 6, 2002: Bought turnips from Joan in my town in the morning. My Tom Nook's is closed for remodelling again! So I had to take ALL THOSE FISH to Harmony to sell! Bought some more turnips from Joan, in Harmony, where she was selling them a bit cheaper. Visited some folk; wrote letters; picked some oranges; came home. Sprocket moved to Harmony. I am not broken up about that, as I didn't really care for him. :-p   Caught up on all my letter-writing/answering. Raining today in LarkRise: good fishing day! Caught one barred knifejaw and eight red snapper. I had to store them in odd places all around the house. Made 79,000 Bells in the island fruit scheme! Then I fished around 6-7pm. I caught THREE coelacanth!!!!!! (oh, the shouting: they are worth 15,000 Bells EACH!) and several red snapper (3,000 Bells each) and a couple barred knifejaw (5,000 Bells each). My house is CRAMMED FULL of aquariums! And the coelacanth aquariums are double-wide! Wow! Up past 4am, wandering around town. Fang, Tom, and Groucho were still up!

Monday, October 7, 2002: Leopold moved in overnight. Went to town about 12 noon. Nookway reopened as the plush, refined two-story Nookington's! Tom Nook looks great in a suit! Anyway, they have LOTS of stuff! And he has Timmy and Tommy, two raccoon twins, as assistants on the second floor of the store. Sold all the fish, fruit, etc. Planted a couple more apple trees. Took fruit to Seafoam Island and got 85,000 Bells in the fruit scheme! Brought the classic bed home, to put on my second floor.  I'm turning it into a bedroom. I have matching wallpaper and carpet on both floors now! (classic on the first floor and exotic on the second) Went back out to the island and took the pineapple bed and exotic bench for my beach house. Caught some red snappers and one barred knifejaw while I was there. I got a tan again! I'm not sure I like the way I look with a tan in this game. Maybe it's the lighting...Resolved: carry a parasol ALWAYS on the island. Went to town again in the evening. Sold lots of fruit, talked to neighbours.

Tuesday, October 8, 2002: Sarah visited LarkRise two times: Iggy and Olive moved to LarkRise from Harmony. Shopped at Nookington's. Caught up on correspondence. Talked to neighbours. Met/revived Gulliver: he gave me a tiger bobblehead. :-p  Went to the island. It took two trips to haul enough fruit there--there were no coconuts on the island today. I did the fruit scheme and made 89,300 Bells! Ordered four more blue wardrobes for storage in the basement. Fishing: one barred knifejaw, three red snapper, some sea bass. Sarah had to run an errand to my town. Jeremiah moved from Harmony to LarkRise shortly thereafter. But Kitt moved away to parts unknown. :-(  ::sniffle:: At night: wardrobes arrived: major reorganization of my basement.

Wednesday, October 9, 2002: Up early. Tortimer, the mayor, asked me where to build a bridge across the river. I said I'd sleep on it and let him know. Planted a shovel west-ish of the post office (my other golden shovel tree died before reaching maturity). Wendell, the starving wallpaper artist, in town today. I caught a red snapper and gave it to him. He said it was his favourite and gave me Blue Tarp wallpaper. When I saw him a little later, he said he was still full and happy. Maybe he only gives out one wallpaper a trip? Went to Harmony, took cherries to sell. I had to return something Sprocket had left behind. Talked to everyone; wrote to Aziz, Goose, and Sarah; fished; brought home three oranges. Dozer moved to Harmony. :-/  Cobb moved in. Filled my basement almost totally with blue wardrobes! Fishing, running errands for folks, etc. Island fruit scheme a disaster: only made about 6,000 Bells this time. Did I do it too many days in a row?? LOTS OF FISHING.

Green-purple line

Thursday, October 10, 2002: Sold lots of fish, etc. PAID OFF MY LAST LOAN! I'm debt-free!! I told Tortimer where to place the bridge. I wonder when it will show up? I began a savings account at the post office. :-)  I caught a goldfish just below the falls! I had caught one before, but donated that to the museum. This one I took home. And when I plunked it down, it was in a cute little goldfish bowl! :-) I started a second/new (besides me, Mousie) character named fleur, to live in LarkRise also. fleur paid off her loan handily; her house will be bigger tomorrow. :-)  Re-organized ALL my clothes and umbrellas/parasols!!

Green-purple line

Friday, October 11, 2002: The new bridge is in, just below the jetty in the lake. :-)  Big glittery gold statue of me near the train station!! Tom Nook had it erected, for my having paid off all my loans from him! My golden tree is growing. I hope I get golden shovels from it! Had to go to Harmony to return something to Dozer. I met Blanca on the train again. In Harmony I sent Aziz a shirt; sold a load of cherries; bought a regal vanity; and brought home some oranges. It doesn't LOOK like anyone left LarkRise, to go to Harmony...! Fishing, bug-catching, beach-combing, errand-running, etc. I saw Blanca wandering around in both Harmony and LarkRise today! Took several pieces of exotic furniture to Yodel, on Seafoam Island, today. He was both surprised and happy. :-)

In the upstairs bedroom, wearing M-Appeal design Downstairs, wearing Teddy Bear design

Saturday, October 12, 2002: Didn't spend much time during the day in LarkRise. The usual. Both Mousie and fleur went to the train station in the evening to get songs from K.K. Slider. Mousie got "K.K. Etude" and fleur got "K.K. Folk".

Green-purple line

Sunday, October 13, 2002: I didn't buy any turnips from Joan--too high a price! My golden tree dropped one golden shovel when I shook it. But so far nothing remarkable has been dug up with it. I had to run an errand to Harmony. Grizzly moved back there AGAIN. Derwin moved to LarkRise. In the evening fishing was good in the river and in the lake: I caught three koi, one angelfish, one goldfish, many rainbow trout, and several cherry salmon! Totally rearranged my basement and gave away stuff to everyone in town! Raining after 12 midnight. I went fishing and caught a coelacanth at 3am!

Green-purple line

Monday, October 14, 2002: Explorers Day. I talked to Tortimer, the mayor, and received a memento of the day, a ship in a bottle. It looks nice on a table. :-) Went to Seafoam Island to bring back all my gyroids. Rearranged my entire first floor. Visited Apple. Took oranges to mail to Cat'r; picked up (from his Personal Gyroid Assistant) a retro stereo for my islander, Yodel; bought some things at Nookway; dug up the entire D-1 acre in Apple (yes, Cat'r said I could) looking for a cabana chair someone had buried there. I never found it; but because I was using my golden shovel, I dug up about FIFTY 100-Bell bags!! Sarah visited LarkRise. No people seem to've moved from any of our towns. Fished in the evening. Caught one coelacanth. :-)  I now have about 280,000 Bells in my savings account. fleur fished and caught lots of good money fish, including a coelacanth. :-)  fleur PAID OFF HER LOAN for the first expansion/remodelling of her house! and then asked Tom Nook for a basement. That should be there in the morning.

Green-purple line

Tuesday, October 15, 2002: Mushrooming Days begin! I went mushrooming at 8am and found four of the five mushrooms. :-)  fleur has a basement now. I, Mousie, will store extra things there. fleur lives a minimalist life. ::grin:: Rearranged my house: I now have exotic series furniture on the first floor instead of regal; and cabana series furniture on the second floor instead of exotic. Working towards pleasing the Happy Room Academy and getting higher points (I *hope*!). fleur fished at night and caught many barred knifejaws and red snappers!
