Second: Mama passed away a couple days ago. I have put the backdated entry about it here. Please go see. There is also a music video there. And some neat heart-warming stuff that happened.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 1:50pm: I already have a means in place for sending little notes to The Other Side. But I wanted to be able to send Mama (and others) full-sized letters and greeting cards. Bunnicula found this lovely box at Home Goods yesterday. I used his cool label-maker on it, and now I have the Celestial Letter Box. There are already two letters in there. Click on both images to see them larger.

Celestial Letter Box
The top apartment was reserved for Henrik, but he'll have to share (when he eventually gets here) This is how I will be sending larger letters and cards to The Other Side

Thursday, October 7, 2010, 7pm: This is an Ukulele Tribute to John Lennon. Lots of wonderful and talented folks in this! I got to be a part of it also--I'm near the end.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010, 12 noon: I actually recorded this three weeks ago, before Mama passed away; but I decided to upload it today so that there would be something new on my YouTube channel.

Tuesday, October 26, 2010, 2:22pm: Mama was laid to rest this morning at 10am ET beside Daddy in the Florida National Cemetery. Tonya, from Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon, Florida, accompanied her body to the cemetery for the burial and stood in our place, representing our family. Neither my sister nor I were able to attend, so I am placing these flowers here, today, in memory of our wonderful mother. I grew them in my Flower Garden app on my iPod Touch.

Thursday, October 28, 2010, 11:52am: This is my entry for the Bring the Song Challenge for October. I wrote this back in September, before Mama passed away on the 29th. I wasn't sure I felt up to doing any videos, but I did this around sundown last night. Sorry it's so dark. Lyrics below the video.

Autumn Song

Autumn leaves tumbling down
Red and gold on the ground
Sweet scent, as I walk along
A distant railway train
The grey clouds hint of rain
These are the elements of song

CH: The geese are southward bound
Their calls, a haunting sound
The crunch of leaves beneath
To us the trees bequeath

A glorious flaming death
It almost takes one's breath
This sweet and sad time of year
Wanderlust conquers me
I need to be set free
This path to me seems so clear

CH: My soul rides on the wind
I don't know what I'll find
Until this feeling goes
I must go where it shows

But now my thoughts turn home
The cold winds start to moan
It's time to shelter and wait
The winter comes apace
I'll yield to its embrace
My snug home keeps me so safe.
And home I'll be and so safe.
