Monday, January 26, 2009, 10:55pm: Once again, I haven't been writing much here. I *have* been writing a lot here, though, as usual:

CountryMouse's Refuge

Also, I post fairly frequently here:

So look for me there ^ if you don't see me here!

The best thing: we have a new President! President Obama! I hope Congress cooperates and helps Obama help us! And wasn't the Inauguration wonderful?! And especially The First Couple's First Dance at The Neighborhood Inaugural Ball. :-)

I have a lot of photos to put up in my Animal Crossing: City Folk Diary. But in the last few days Bunnicula and I have decided to stop playing, at least for a while. Nothing new is happening, plus we are so upset about the wearing away of the grass/snow. There is barely enough snow to make snowmen, which is the only way you can get the Snowman furniture series.

I've gotten back into knitting and crocheting more, all because of President Obama! When he declared that Martin Luther King Jr. Day should be a National Day of Service, I decided the thing that I could do was make a square for Warm Up America! on that day. After that, I decided to try to find a/some charity/charities that I could help out. I am now part of a wonderful group called Love's Many Cloths. I am going to be making washcloths for people in shelters, etc. And there are many other things I plan on making as time goes on.

Meanwhile, I've been working on completing some of my UFO's (unfinished objects). Here are the latest photos in my Needlework section.

Wednesday, January 28, 2009, 11:35am: I've been posting a variation of this to all the groups I'm in, plus I just posted to CountryMouse's Refuge too:

We have a couple leaks in our roof/ceiling. I thought they'd fixed all that when they put the new roof on...10 years ago? Oops. We are on the third/top floor of our apartment building. There's a flat roof above us. So lots of ice and snow up there.

One leak is not in a terrible place. We can just walk around it, mostly. We have paper towels on the floor. The bad leak is at the ceiling/wall over our living room windows. It's right by our cable modem, TV, DVD player, game machines, etc. It's quite possible we'll have to unplug the cable modem and everything else when things thaw and it starts to drip more again. It's slowed way down since the freezing rain we had all yesterday afternoon and all night changed to snow this morning.

SO: if you don't see me here, this is the one place I can still post to, because I can post from my cell phone there (it's not a "smart phone", just a cell phone with a QWERTY keyboard):

All my tweets of the day are shipped to CountryMouse's Refuge every night as one post. So you can just wait and catch up there. :-P

I'll keep posting via computer as long as I can. Maybe I won't have to be offline at all--I hope!

P.S. I hope that the Wii is okay. When I reached it this morning, it had some splashes of water on it. :-( I rescued it as quickly as I could. So no Wii games for a while. I'll be knitting and crocheting more and playing stuff on my DS. :-D

Wednesday, February 25, 2009, 8:01pm:  The roof is *still* not fixed. But I cut our cable service way back to just the very basics since the furniture is all scrunched up, out of the way of the leak. Since we can't sit and watch TV, why pay for any more than the absolute minimum? We're supposedly "on the list" of apartments that the roofers will get to. Harrumph.

I've been knitting, crocheting, and loom knitting! Here are the photos of the latest.
