Sailor Moon Music Collection SM 210

This cd is fairly jazzy, almost at times sounding like a light opera. Worth getting.

Orgel Fantasia

This is an incredibly beautiful cd. All the music is done in the style of an old-fashioned music box, giving the music a very unique sound, very relaxing and enjoyable. If you were to get only one non-vocal Sailor Moon cd, this should be the one!

Music Fantasy SM 273.

This cd is only fair at best. I am not an expert on the music from the show but this music doesn't really sound like it is actually from the show itself; perhaps it was redone at some other time. Skip this one.

GA015

This is worth getting. Track 3 is one of the most ultra-cute tracks I've ever heard. Track 4 has a strong Spanish flavor to it, and track 10 is the "Make-up" song which is really good.

SM 317

Forget this one. Do something else. Pet your dog. Paint your house. Become a hermit and wander the country for the next three years. Just don't bother with this cd.

Although the name "Sailor Moon" is on the cd very little of the music even sounds like Sailor Moon. Granted, I am no expert on its music and the cuts may very well be from episodes I have never seen, but I hope not. Several cuts have some woman acting like an operatic wannabe, while one cut specifically referring to the Sailor Scouts sounds like a refugee from a soundtrack of a 1950's tv program.

The first cut reminded me of the Empire's music theme from Star Wars. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Don't bother with this one.

Sailor Moon

This is the all-English-language Sailor Moon cd and it's a very, very good one. Mostly if not all from the first Sailor Moon series the cd is one I listen to over and over.

It opens, of course, with the Sailor Moon theme. The second cut is "I Wanna Be A Star" which is a cute fantasy-dream song. "My Only Love", the third cut, is one of the several torch songs on the album. "Call My Name" is a fast-moving story of devotion to one's friends while "One Starry Night" is a rather sappy lovesong. "It's a New Day" is a really upbeat tune. "Carry On" is a hard-hitting song taken from the final episode of the first series where Sailor Moon has to face Queen Beryl on her own. "Rainy Day Man" is another sad lovesong.

"Only a Memory Away" is another song about devotion to one's friends although I do not know what episode it was used it. "She's Got the Power" is the only male-sung song on the cd and is also very powerful.

The woman who does the lead singing on the cd has a wonderful, sharp, clear voice. Sometimes the songs remind me of country-western music but with a stronger pop influence.

This is a cd that is well worth getting and should be added to your collection.

Complete Vocal Collection Volume 1 GA 014

Another good cd with a fair amount devoted to operatic-like versions of Sailor Moon music. It sounds somewhat unusual at first, but the more I listened to those particular cuts the more I liked them and the more I was surprised just how well pop-culture music can be converted into an operatic form. Worth getting.
