Ranma Forever

Review

It's off to another training ground but things go badly as Ranma, now in girl form, suffers from almost total amnesia and thinks her name is actually Ranko. She ends up in a different dojo with two girls who both now dislike her, along with Ryoga, whom she doesn't actually recognize. It's a pretty well-done story, although it's not finished. There's a variety of possibilities for the story to continue; Ranko regains her memory and everything returns to normal; Ranko regains her memory, journeys back to the caves, this time beats the demon and ends her curse; Ranko regains her memory, goes back to the caves, and she either gets stuck permanently as a female, or gets split into permanent male and female parts; or, the expected one, Akane finds her, gets mad at her, as usual, and mallets her, causing the amnesia to become permanent.

Synopsis

Part 1

Genma wakes up Ranma, saying they are to go on a training trip. He has a booklet that claims to show a place in Japan which has a magical spring that can cure magical curses. They do not return for two days. Kasumi finds the guidebook and now knows where they have gone. Nodoka shows up and writes a letter to where Genma and Ranma are supposed to be. They get to a place with a bunch of monks and caves and they rush right in. Later, a female Ranma wakes up, suffering complete amnesia. She finds the letter in her pocket, and, since it was addressed to Ranko, she thinks that's her name.

Part 2

Ranko finds a place that will take her in for a while. A week passes since Genma and Ranma had left. Two weeks pass. Later Genma is found and his memory seems to be okay once he changes back from being a panda.

Part 3

Back to the house near the caves. The morning after Ranko had found shelter the husband wants to see if Ranko is any good in martial arts. He finds out she's way above his league, and the guy's wife mentions a dojo near Tokyo where Ranko might want to go. Genma, Akane, Shampoo, Mousse and Ukyo go in search of Ranma. Meanwhile Ranko takes a bath and finds out she changes into a he. Hitomi and Megumi are the daughters of the guy who owns the dojo near Tokyo. Ranma has gone back to begin Ranko, believing that is her natural state, and she arrives at the dojo.

Part 4

Megumi is the rougher of the two, Hitomi saying that Megumi can beat up anyone at school. Ranko will be staying there with them. Ranko will also be expected to attend school. Megumi and Ranko end up having a martial arts fight and Ranko, of course, wins. Ranko runs into a guy like Kuno and ends up punting him away, then later a group of girls attack her and she beats them all. Megumi is the one behind that attack. Ryoga and has become lost and ends up in the same house as Ranko and the other two, both of whom now dislike her.
