The Journey is the Destination Review

The events take place after the end of the television series. Ranma knows he's in love with Akane and not any of the other girls. He's also trying to do with all anti-woman traditionalist crap from Genma. Ranma decides that he needs radical changes in his life to fix all the chaos. Ranma decides to appear as Ranma-chan.

The story then deals with how Ranma, Akane, Nodoka and later a couple others develop a plan to have it appear that Ranma has always been a female. The hope is that, by using this approach, all the other engagements can be ended and Ranma can end up getting the total chaos out of his life and live a normal life.

During the story we see the degree of love between Ranma and Akane and how Ranma being in girl mode does not turn Akane off at all. Nodoka gets mad at Nabiki for the way she has been making money off Ranma and Akane.

Then things fall apart with an attack by Kodachi and a fight with Kuno. Ranma-chan does not fight like normal; she fights with a viciousness she rarely has used and those two end up getting hurt.

Ukyo is also in the story. Ryoga only is in for a very short time. The major problem is Shampoo, Mousse and Cologne especially. There's a big showdown and a wild fight between Ranma-chan and Cologne. The ending of the story is very satisfactory.

The story is really good. I enjoyed it and I think it took a sensible and very logical approach to the problems facing Ranma. It's also very understandable that he wants the chaos out of his life, and the romantic scenes with Akane are also quite good.
