Tabula Rasa

Review

Ranma and Ryoga are trying to get something that can eliminate their curses but things go wrong and Ranma is locked in female form permanently. She has a very great deal of trouble adjusting to that; moreso than in any other similar story I've read. Genma gets put in his place for once and so does Kuno.

Ukyo shows just how much of a friend she can be. and Nodoka really acts like a loving and understanding mother. It's a very, very emotional story, and also is well done.

Summary

Chapter 1

Ranma-chan is in an attic contemplating suicide and terribly upset about something.

Ranma and Ryoga had entered some temple five weeks previously. They had fought some kind of guardian for a jewel that would get rid of curses and they lost. The guardian locked Ranma in female form permanently.

Ranma gets mad at Ryoga and nearly kills him.

Chapter 2

Kasumi and Ranma-chan have a long talk. Later Kasumi talks to Cologne to get something that can help Ranma-chan get some decent sleep. Genma gets nasty to Ranma-chan. Genma yells at her and Akane tries to stop her but Ranma-chan hits Akane then runs away. Kasumi gets Akane and slaps Genma.

Shampoo finds Ranma-chan and talks to her, telling her that she's still Ranma on the inside.

Later Genma decides to go talk to Nodoka, but finds Ranma-chan is there also.

Chapter 3

Ranma-chan is realizing that she's been letting what happened get the better of her, that she had been stuck as a girl before, and maybe she needs to change how she is thinking about things.

Genma appears and Nodoka really starts telling him off. She is ready to kill him for what he has done to Ranma/Ranma-chan and for making her child afraid of her. She tells Genma to get lost until he manages to become the type of man she actually married.

Meanwhile, at school, Ukyo is trying to talk to Akane when Ryoga appears. That's all right, but Kuno appears, slanders Ranma, as usual, and this time Ryoga fights him and nearly kills him.

Ranma-chan has been living with Nodoka for a week and things are going fairly well. Ukyo shows up, but only as a friend, and that goes well also.

Ukyo and Ranma-chan talk but end up having an argument.

Ranma-chan returns home to Nodoka's, but Akane is there. They get things worked out between them. Later Nodoka and Ranma-chan have a talk and Ranma-chan is beginning to realize it's time to move on with her life.
