Painted Smile

Review

It's another good story in the series, this one centering around Ranma-chan having to make a decision either to get married or not to get married on her wedding day. Some intelligent things are said by Genma, which is a wonder in itself.

Synopsis

Ranma-chan is going to get married and she's ultra-nervous. Akane's being very nice to Ranma-chan. Ranma is being nasty to the others, but Nabiki is able to give as well as take as far as that goes.

Nabiki washes Ranma-chan's hair for her. Nabiki tells Ranma-chan she still does have a choice on whether or not to get married (Ranma-chan is pregnant, by the way.) Ranma-chan is so nasty, though, that Nabiki finally has enough and storms out of the bathroom.

Nodoka then shows up to help Ranma-chan get ready for her wedding. Ranma-chan is still having major difficulties accepting that she is a woman and will be for the rest of her life, much less accepting that she will be a mother.

Ranma-chan tells Genma that she's willing to go on a training trip with him, even get an abortion, but Genma for once says some intelligent things about being a responsible person. Genma goes on to tell Ranma-chan she's just trying to run away from things and she actually does want to get married but won't admit it to herself.

Finally Ranma-chan gets Kentaro to herself and they have a very meaningful talk. Ranma-chan does want to get married, but she still has a lot of her macho past internal thinking to overcome.
