Ranma Reflected

Review

This is one of a number of stories that I have found that have obviously never been finished and may never be, despite the fact that it shows promise. The story starts with Ranko splitting off from Ranma and becoming her own physical reality, and goes from there to where Ranko and Ranma end up being physically attracted to each other.

Exactly how Ranko splits off is not really detailed, but I consider it one of the "suspension of disbelief" moments necessary to move on with the story. From that point on it's interesting and had a lot of potential as far as what would happen to the Ranma/Ranko relationship once Akane and the others all found out.

The story does have a couple of problems, though, one being in the physical layout of the story. It could have been broken up into more paragraphs, maybe setting some of the conversation in its own paragraphs. Secondly, Ranma takes Ranko to the dojo and let's her sleep in his room but doesn't Genma sleep there? The story needed a reason for Genma to not be in the room for, at least, a matter of several days.

I would have liked to have seen how this story developed.

Synopsis

The story opens with Akane malleting Ranma about a (justified) remark he made about her cooking while Kasumi is being attacked by another piece of Akane's handiwork.

Ranma goes off to think and (somehow) the emotional/female part of him splits off and assumes a physical identity of her own, Ranko. They go back to the dojo and Ranma wants to keep Ranko a secret for now.

Kasumi finds out and promises to keep the secret. Ranko later tells Ukyo about her secret and about Ryouga being P-chan. Ranko also tells to have an effect on Ranma and he finds himself getting turned on. Ranko finds herself falling in love with Ranma and tells Kasumi, saying it isn't right for her to feel that way.

Ranko cries on Kasumi's shoulder and, when Ranma comes in, she goes over to him and he holds her while she continues to cry. Suddenly Akane appears and sees the two of them.

A story that probably won't be continued since it was posted in 2001 and nothing new after that.
