Part
30

Friday, July 5, 2002: Yay!
Except for the incident in Los Angeles, it was a relatively safe and happy Fourth of July
yesterday, after all the worries about terrorist attacks. Here at the Mouse House we did
our usual, setting off little fireworks you can buy in packages at the grocery store:
smoke bombs, "volcanoes", noisemakers of various sorts, "drop pops".
We did those in the late morning, before it got overly hot. We watched "A Bug's
Life" (which is a good story about learning to gain independence from oppressors!) in
the afternoon on a library DVD; then we had a meal of hot dogs, baked beans, etc., with
strawberry ice cream for dessert. In the evening we watched the Macy's fireworks display
live from New York City on TV; then around 10pm, when it was finally dark enough, we went
outside to light our sparklers. There were other fireworks being set off all around the
neighbourhood. We could HEAR a lot of them and see a few. Really nice! Anyway, I hope all
you U.S. citizens (both at home and abroad) had a happy and enjoyable Independence Day
celebration!
There are a few photos from our little 4th of July
doings in the Mouse with PalmPix! section, cropped as usual to
comply with Mouse House policy (we took other photos, but those are of loved ones, so they
are not being displayed online). There would've been more photos, but the PalmPix got all
confused and couldn't take any more photos until Cat'r reinstalled its software later in
the day, then put new batteries in the camera portion of it. Yay! It's all well and
working just fine again.

Saturday, July 6, 2002: Here
is a copy of Christopher's Letter Home to the other bears
and creators-of-them at The Vermont Teddy Bear Company.
Please make sure all your bears read the last part about Bearly Duties. :-)

Sunday, July
28, 2002: I've added the last of the PalmPix photos that I will be
putting up--because I got a new camera! A Nikon Coolpix 2500! I will be making a section
for the photos I will be taking with it.
Anyway, the new/last sets of PalmPix photos are on the last page of
the Mouse with PalmPix! section.
