CountryMouse's Diary

Part 38

Rainbow swirly bar

Tuesday, March 2, 2004: Eee! There's a party going on in my guestbook! Woo! I had no idea this was going to happen! Those crazy GOFers! They are the greatest! Hugs to them all!

Speaking of my guestbook: Cat'r said go ahead and download the sign-in page (the .html one) and fix it up how I wanted; then he would follow suit and fix up the view part (the log of entries) for me, which is written in perl (unknown country for this mouse!). He is the one who set me up originally with this guestbook, here on the bookmice domain. So now my guestbook looks prettier and I hope more readable. :-)

5:51pm: I now have more of my pretties up here on the Web for viewing. My Jewelry is now on display--I just got the pretty mousie pendant today!

Thursday, March Forth! 2004: I've been working on a super-secret page, which won't go up until the 20th! hee hee hee!

I also put up a page about My GOF Guestbook Party [EDIT Dec. 2004: no longer there], since I got all kinds of nice presents. :-)

Yesterday, after a doctor's appointment, Cat'r took me to a nearby Hallmark store. I found a couple wonderfully soft and silky people to come home with me: Harrison, an old-fashioned-looking brown bear who is kinda floppy and very sweet; and Paint, a soft floppy horse suitable for ages "Birth and Up". :-)  Paint is somewhat excitable and bouncy; Harrison is slow and kindly. I also got some Mary's Bears stationery and notecards; some Classic Pooh postalettes (foldover notes); and some Mary's Bears stickers and teddy bear stickers.

As you may have noticed, there are new photos in the Fuzzy Fotos section! All of Page 3 is new.

Woohoo, my boxed set of the Firefly series on DVD arrived today! (Click on the picture at left to see it larger!) Four discs, commentary, blooper reel, etc. I absolutely adored this series! There are three episodes in the series that never even aired, but that are included in this set. Firefly was cut down so early.  :-(  But I hear that Joss Whedon is working on a Firefly movie!

Friday, March 5, 2004: We didn't get a chance to watch any of the Firefly episodes yet, but I have to put the lyrics to the opening theme here anyway (I have an MP3 of it):

Take my love
Take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care
I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me

Take me out
To the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and
Boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me

There's no place
I can be
Since I've found Serenity
You can't take the sky from me

9:01am:  I had never used tubes in PSP 5. I just started learning how to use tubes and make pretty things with them when I was trying out the demo of PSP 7, then purchased PSP 8. But just for fun, I thought I would try the tubes thing in PSP 5 this morning. There don't seem to be any gradients for backgrounds, just plain colours (or else I am just not finding them). But I did make a plain butterfly quilt square with it. Not fancy, but acceptable.

Saturday, March 6, 2004: I am actually caught up on my Coolpix section! See Page 12 and Page 13 for the latest. ::beam:: Okay, I still have photos of Teddy, Christopher, and the Build-A-Bear Workshop bears to put up. But otherwise, we're pretty current! :-)

Monday, March 8, 2004: There are some new things over in My Treasures; and there is now an angel at The View From Here. :-)

Procrastinating by playing with putting new goodies in, instead of doing things around the house--hee!

Tuesday, March 9, 2004: I took some little snapshots out the car window when I was out briefly today. They are over in the PalmPix section on Page 8.

Yes, there's a new icon over on the Holiday Pages. But I can't make a link to it yet--shhh! Too soon!

Wednesday, March 10, 2004, 1:02am: Yes, yes, I should be asleep. :-)  Just wanted to show you something cool that I didn't know was happening while I was putting it together. On my Memberships page I have three (so far) cliques/web directory memberships. I had them one way, then rearranged them another, because they seemed visually more pleasant to me that way. Then I noticed that they read, left to right (the ones that are forming this cool thing) RADICAL and DREAMER. Anyone else played ChronoCross? Way cool!!

2:10pm: Big Teddy Tux and Evening Gown Party in Philadelphia tonight! Go see the people dressed in their finery, ready to go!

Friday, March 12, 2004: Bears in St. Patrick's Day clothes! Bears in flannel! (well, one bear!) Go see!

Sunday, March 14, 2004: Cat'r and I finally got caught up watching all the "Angel" episodes we had been taping and saving. We watched the last three episodes in a row late last night. Here is my reaction to the last two. :sigh:: I made a Fred quilt. So many complex feelings. And so much I don't want to say that would be too spoilerish. But I guess the quilt kinda gives something away.......I haven't decided on music yet.

Tuesday, March 16, 2004, 7:39am: Just after Bunnicula left for work, I decided I'd better get a few photos of the overnight snowfall before rains come to wash it away or wind comes to blow the delicately-placed snow from the branches. Here is our early-morning snow.

Wednesday, March 17, 2004: Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

There are new poems up in The View From Here. The one that I feel the most strongly about is St. Swithin's Day. It...wrote itself, it poured from my pen, I do recall. When reading it, I feel it is from someone else to me. Maybe all those fire goddesses were inspiring me back then...I just didn't know it. :-P

7:45pm: Well, my first attempt. I gotta see how this looks: Mouse House  Something's not quite right about the upper left-hand corner, but otherwise it's working! :-)

Thursday, March 18, 2004: A little bit of an explanation has been added to the top of my Garden of Friendship Dedication page [EDIT Dec. 2004: no longer there]. :-) And a new splash page! Soon the super-secret page will be available! I'll let you know when! Hee!

Friday, March 19, 2004: Night owl   It's...3:57am?! Eek! Okay, but I just made a new page. It's off my top/main index page, and it's My ChronoCross Summer. It's actually mostly a scrapbook for me. Fond memories. :-)

8:08am:  Yes, I will nap some later. Still not enough sleep. :-P  Anyway, I forgot to mention last night that I have owned the ChronoCross original soundtrack for several years now. It's a 3-disc set and totally worth the money! It is probably one of the best soundtracks (movie or game) that I have ever heard! Not like some soundtracks (the "Lawrence of Arabia" original release--which I adore--comes to mind), this one has all the tracks in the proper order. Listening to the soundtrack is like a travelogue or a memory-jogger for the person who has played this game. However the casual listener can easily enjoy its immense beauty--this music is GORGEOUS and can definitely stand alone. You can just let it sweep you away on its many moods and emotions and create your own images in your mind--a wonderful experience! The composer is Yasunori Mitsuda. Click on the pic at right to see it larger.

12:23pm: Oh hey, here are a couple pics of my ChronoCross clock that was a gift for pre-ordering the game, ChronoCross. Good thing I checked it just now--the battery was dead and could've eventually leaked and caused corrosion!

Birthday Party for Cat'r at The Mouse House!Saturday, March 20, 2004: It's the day! That special page can now be unveiled (in case you haven't already found it!)! It's A Birthday Party for the Caterpillar! Anytime you want to get back there, there is a link on the Holidays page leading there. So get on down to the party, and don't forget to sign his guestbook to let him know what a great time you had at his party! (click on the announcement/invitation on the left to go to the party!)

Also: Happy Ostara! Well, in a little over an hour! At 1:49am EST it will be Spring!

Spring Is Sprung! Spring - Nature's Rebirth

5:40pm:
I have a feeling Cat'r's party is gonna rock on for several days, so if you miss out today, don't be shy about showing up a day or so later!

I think I have finally found the right music for my Winifred Burkle quilt page: it's a beautiful haunting original composition by Mary Hession. Please visit her site to hear many more gorgeous pieces of music!

I've received two new awards today! :-)  And Gramma Susie (who gave me the awards) also made the prettiest mousie plaque for me! It's in two places, because I couldn't decide where to put it: my Plaques page and also on my Gifts page. :-D

Spring began with a BANG here in SW Ohio! We awoke at 5am to a fairly fierce thunderstorm! I ran to turn off Cat'r's computer, then unplug the cable modem. We had another round of storms late this afternoon: it's a cold front coming through.

Monday, March 22, 2004:  Urgh. Got a nasty ole cold. It's hard for me to be online for very long, as my eyes keep burning and watering, not to mention the sneezing and coughing. So if you are looking for my new WOSIB dedication page (which I plan to do--with an URD (of "Oh My Goddess!" fame) set!!), it's not here yet. When I am feeling better, I will do it. Plus I have a couple personalized adoptions from there too, that I will have to find a place for or make a new page for. :-)

9:21pm: Okay, having a cold makes me more emotional. I am sitting here, listening to "Radical Dreamers" on My ChronoCross Summer page, and coming over all nostalgic. I love that song. It takes me back there. If you've ever played an RPG, then you know that when you've been in a game, it was somewhere you WENT, that you were *there*. Some games I absolutely adored: "Guardian's Crusade" ("Knight and Baby" in Japan), "Legend of Mana" (I played through this TWICE, once right after the other!), "Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure", "ChronoCross", "Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete". RPGs rule. :-P

Tuesday, March 23, 2004, 12:32am: Eek, I should go to bed! But I did make my WOSIB Dedication Page [EDIT Dec. 2004: no longer there]. :-)

10:49am: A new article is up in The View From Here. It's "just" quotes, but it's important.

Wednesday, March 24, 2004, 5:45pm:  Stuff I have been doing: using up Scotties tissues like they are going out of style (yes, still the cold). I think I put some new things in the My Treasures area last night (hard to think when you're in a fog). I also did a Prayer to the Goddess yesterday. I felt burnt out on messing with my pages today so I played some Toontown. But I messed up in choosing a new task and now will be stuck with one I may not be able to accomplish for months. ::sigh:: Oh well! Going off for a little nap in just a few.

Sunday, March 28, 2004, 12:46am:  There are new photos up in the Coolpix section, on pages 13 and 14. Enjoy!

11:08am:  Thanks to raaven on LiveJournal, here is a link to a site you must go see and take time to go through: Ghost Town. It's about motorcycling through Chernobyl.

Tuesday, March 30, 2004: Going to my PSP8 class in a little while. I missed last week due to the cold zonking me.

::trying to remember what things I have added:: There is a WOSIB Events page now. Ooo, and a fairy visited me from Women of Strength and Inner Beauty--she said some wonderful things! Her gift to me is on the WOSIB Gifts page [EDIT Dec. 2004: my WOSIB pages are no longer there]. :-)

Attention!

We are moving to a new web hosting service. For the next 48 hours or so there will be no updates here. Any anomalies that may occur are due to this change-over. Please bear with us. We will still be at the same domain when this is completed.
