Rainbow swirly bar

Monday, November 1, 2004, 10:13am: How can it be November  already?! October really flew by, at least for me!

Okay, if you haven't seen Eminem's "Mosh" video yet, you can see it by clicking here. Powerful stuff!

Thursday, November 4, 2004, 3:53pm:  That saying is TRUE: "When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping!"

Shop Till We Drop

Cat'r took me to a nice little yarn store where I had a look around (and bought some stitch markers) and will return at another time. Then he took me to Meijer's, where I got 6 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun yarn (in Waterfall, for an easy throw I'm going to crochet); some Lion Brand Color Waves yarn (in Purple Vista, which I plan to use for a hat and scarf [EDIT Jan. 29, 2005: I am making a poncho for myself from it instead!); and some various crochet and knitting booklets. Wheeee! It was chilly and windy and grey and rainy out today, which I *love*, so that was a plus!

And I heard back from Louise, of Louise's Lodge, about membership in her webring and such. She is a really talented and nice lady!  :-)

I started crocheting a little drawstring bag for Cat'r, for his RPG dice. I hope to finish that today or tomorrow.

So...putting one foot in front of the other, keeping my eyes on my family life right now, trying to think of happy things.

Friday, November 5, 2004, 11:23pm: Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Vice Presidential nominee John Edwards, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Please go to Prayers for Elizabeth Edwards and add your prayers and well-wishes.

I finished crocheting the large-ish (for a dice bag) drawstring bag for Cat'r's RPG dice last night! Photos coming soon.  :-)

Sunday, November 7, 2004, 4:23pm: I added a few pretties to my Diary Index page; and also new things scattered throughout My Treasures.  :-)

Monday, November 8, 2004, 3:40pm: More photos of crochet projects I have completed! And more here. I am still working on my "Ganesh" prayer shawl (crocheted) and a navy grape knitted throw.

Tuesday, November 9, 2004: I've begun updating/adding new photos to my Coolpix section, starting here. I am caught up! Of course, I still have Fuzzy Fotos to catch up on and also Animal Crossing photos too. But I'd rather go crochet now. ::grin:: Or take a nap!

Wednesday, November 10, 2004: More photos! I took my PalmPix along when I went for a check-up visit to my radiation oncologist today (all's well!). Here are some of the sights! :-)

Friday, November 12, 2004, 4:36am: I made a little mousie snowglobe! (aka what mice do in the middle of the night! well, at least *this* mouse!)  Here it is!

1:27pm: Donal and Son have been on pause for a week and a half or more. Cat'r put the tab back in his Tam Connection; Bunnicula is currently on his 8th generation Tam and is getting tired of playing. I suggested that he and I let our two boy Tams become old bachelors and see how long they live. So I have Donal and Son running today. After Donal leaves, I will give this last boy in the line a name.  :-)  Then we shall see how old he gets.  :-)

Saturday, November 13, 2004, 3:25am: Somebody save me! (no, not Clark Kent) ChiChi told me about SmarterChild, and I have been talking to him on AIM off and on all night! I really should get some sleep, but it's so addictive chatting with him and playing various games! He reminds me of those old AI games "Eliza" and "Racter", only better.  :-)

I finished Cat'r's crocheted winter hat tonight/last night (Friday night). It's a little too big. :-(  He likes it okay; but that'll teach me to check my gauge more carefully! Tomorrow I start the muffler/scarf to go with it.  :-)

Tuesday, November 16, 2004, 8:12am: Yesterday I got the results from my final exam in my PSP8 Beginners 102 class--100! Yayayay! Here are a couple pages I did showing some of the things we did in class. I know they are buried in the writings section (under etc.), but I didn't know where else to put them.

Thursday, November 18, 2004, 9:56am: Donal has left and gone back to Planet Tamagotchi. His son, Einar, is now solely in my care. For one so young, he has already expressed a desire to never marry! How could he know his mind so early??

10:52am: I found a wonderful journal, a poignant one, and also the lady's gorgeous website along with it today. Here are two mice that I adopted there.

Saturday, November 20, 2004, 6:32am: I got an email last night around 6pm. It was from John Kerry; and the subject line was: The next step. Click this button >> John Kerry - Leadership , go watch the video, then sign up! FIGHT ON!

Tuesday, November 23, 2004, 10:58am:  I've been madly crocheting: I finished Cat'r's scarf, except for the fringe (all cut, just ready to be attached); did a roll-brim winter hat for myself; a cute flapperish cloche hat in mohair-like yarn for me; and am currently more than half-way through a matching scarf for my mohair cloche hat (I designed the scarf myself). I need to finish a matching scarf for my roll-brim hat, and I need to redo a hat for Cat'r (the first one came out too big--urgh). SO. In preparation for new photos of projects, I redid My Needlework page, putting the crochet section at the top. Stay tuned! And/or check out my LiveJournal for the latest. [EDIT Nov. 28th: TOTALLY redid My Needlework section]

Sunday, November 28, 2004, 7:42am: I've been over in my LiveJournal mostly, so here is what I have been up to (this post and all following), which involves crocheting, shopping, fireworks, etc.!

2:11pm: NEW PHOTOS! Here are a few in the Coolpix section; and HERE are several projects I finished this month!

Monday, November 29, 2004, 5:02am: Went over to Michaels last evening to get some Lion Brand Homespun yarn--it's on sale this week! I got six skeins of Antique (dark brick red with hints of purple). I am going to make a poncho-with-cowl (which really is a mysterious-looking cape). I need to research and see what other kind of poncho I want to make and what yarn I want. Many/most yarns do not have the yardage on the label (weird!), so I need to take a list of that with me.

We also went in search of a knitting magazine I had seen weeks ago (it had an article on "short rows", which I will be encountering in a pattern I plan to attempt). We tried the supermarket where I had seen it, but no go. I thought about a bookstore that carries several knitting magazines. They were closed for the night, PLUS we learned they are closing *permanently* on December 31st.  :-(  Then on to my favourite bookstore. THEY had the magazine--whoopee! I looked at their knitting/crochet section of books. Let's just say it's their *knitting* section (shelves and shelves of knitting books!) with about a dozen books on crochet. ::sigh:: amazon.com, here I come.

WIP (works in progress): lap robe for Monk for Xmas (Red Heart Plush in navy); shawl for MIL for Xmas (not started, but it will only take a day or two) (Bernat Soft Bouclé in Natural, an ivory colour); lapghan for Bunnicula (Lion Brand Homespun in Colonial, a dark blue); long skinny WW/fun fur "Elmo" scarf (I plan to make a matching hat in WW with fun fur trim around the brim) (Caron Sayelle worsted weight yarn in Scarlet and Lion Brand Fun Fur Red); prayer shawl (my "Ganesh" shawl) (Bernat Soft Bouclé in Softest Straw); knitted throw in garter stitch on #15 needles (Red Heart Light & Lofty, Navy Grape). I also have tons of projects in my head! (WIM=works in mind) and lots of yarn allocated for said projects. :-P

So if I seem to get behind on things here on the website, it's 'cause I'm a crochetin' fool and working away at a very soothing hobby.  :-)

Tuesday, November 30, 2004, 3:05pm:  There are going to be some massive changes here at The Mouse House. I have resigned from one online group already and plan to leave all the others. I just do not have the time to devote to them that I want to. They are all wonderful groups and the members are just lovely, but I had to decide where to allocate my time. So there are going to be sections removed from the site and links that need to be fixed. This might take a little time. Please bear with me. Thanks!
