CountryMouse's Diary

Part 70

Rainbow swirly bar

Friday, February 2, 2007, 12:18am: A day late and a dollar short. :-P  Well, I hope not the second part! (*knock on wood!*) Anyway, I wish you a happy holiday, whichever you celebrate today (I celebrate all three, more or less rolled into one!).

Happy Imbolc Candlemas Happy Groundhog Day

In other news: the flowers are fully grown on Page 3 of the Spirit Flower Garden; and there are now four new pots on Page 4!

Adventures in Cell Phone Land: see my LiveJournal here and here.

I'm sure there is more I should be writing, but it's late and I need sleep. 'Night all!

Saturday, February 10, 2007, 1:09am: Sorry for not updating here. But I *have* been writing in my LiveJournal. Take a peek starting here.

I lost track of the books I read. I am sorta bogged down in the last part of The Politics of Jesus (it got really depressing), so I haven't finished it yet. I started reading Forever a couple weeks or so ago, but lost interest somehow. I don't know--my reading has fallen off. Just before the holidays I read quite a few books, including The Willows in Winter by William Horwood and The Adventures of Flash Jackson by William Kowalski (great book!). Oh well. I'm sure I'll get back to more voracious reading at some point. :-)

Monday, February 19, 2007, 9:42pm: First of all, catch up here.

Next: I started Alex up again! I mean, I woke him up from his loooooong sleep! I had to put a new battery in him. But I wanted to see how he was. The last time I posted his stats was last May (?!?!). Eek! The clock said August 8th on it, when I started it up again, so that's when theGotchi Gear Charms battery must've died. I just now updated his stats over on his V3 page. This evening I went to the shop (in the egg, not at Tamagotchi Town) and bought Alex some building blocks. He seemed to really enjoy playing with them! He built a castle!

Anyway, the reason I wanted to check on Alex and perhaps let the matchmaker bring him a wife, is that Bunnicula and I got Tamagotchi Connection V4's this past weekend! B. got the Blue Swirl model and I got the Lavender Flowers (it really looks like a deep hot pink with pink and peach flowers on it). We haven't started those yet. I want to either let Alex stay here a bit longer or else send him home to Planet Tamagotchi (put the tab back in) before starting up a new Tam.

Any tips on things I should know about in the V4???

Oh yeah. On Saturday, amidst all the snow and ice, when we went to Toys R Us and got our Tam V4's, we also went to Target. There we found Tamagotchi CELL PHONE STRAPS!! (called charms--click on the pic to see it larger!). Woohoo!!! I have the Mametchi one on my phone right now.  :-)  I am totally addicted to cell phone straps at the moment anyway (go go GO to StrapYa.com!) , so this was just another wonderful find!

Okay, back to eating my late late supper and reading the instructions that came with the Tam V4.

Tuesday, February 20, 2007, 11:48am: I have a little Tamagotchi Desktop Buddy! Go get yours at Bandai's Tamagotchi Connection site, then click on Downloads at the top of the page. You will see the place to click to get your Desktop Buddy. It's an .zip file (which opens into an .exe file), but I trust Bandai. I'm sure it's not dangerous. Bunnicula and I have both been running our Buddies since last night.  :-)

So I have a Mametchi on my desktop; and I have Alex (a Mametchi) sitting in the Tamagotchi Easy Chair right by the monitor, watching the screen via Tamagotchi Peripheral Vision aka Bend-y Vision.

This morning earlier I bought Alex a fishing rod. So far all he's caught are tin cans. I also bought him a cap. He put it on and did a funny dance. :-P  Then he watched me play some games, while he drank coffee (or cocoa?). I played Rummy, Hearts, and Billiards--all part of Nintendo's Club House Games for the DS. I told him I would show him what was left of the ice and snow out the window, but then I forgot for a bit. Soon, when I looked over at him, there was a scene of a snowman and snow coming down along the top of the screen! Okay, I got the hint. We looked out the window together.  :-)

Later today, after we play a few more games (usually I am only good at the GET game), I'll take him to Tamagotchi Town and see if there is anything I can buy him or anything we can do together.

12:48pm: Woohoo! I Shot The Moon! I Shot The Moon! This is the first time I did it on purpose, planning to do it without any assistance from Bunnicula (who taught me how to play Hearts). I was dealt all the high Hearts and the Queen of Spades, so it was just a matter of playing the tricks the right way so that I took them all! Woohoo! Everyone else got skunked! hehehehe! I am playing a demo of Hardwood Hearts from Silver Creek Entertainment. I already own Hardwood Solitaire III (which I love), so I am strongly considering buying Hardwood Hearts too. Addictive.  :-P

Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 2:49am: Yesterday in the afternoon Alex got to listen to the three CDs below (click on each pic to see it larger) whilst watching me knit on a cell phone cozy. It rained and rained, and Alex was very pleasant company.

He also got to see all the new stuff I received from StrapYa.com!

Late in the afternoon we went to Tamagotchi Town. We played lots of games, went to the movies, visited the school, and brought home many many souvenirs! I also bought Alex a toy that he doesn't like.  :-(   It's a stuffed animal, a lion. When I give it to him, he screams in fright, then looks both angry and sad. ::sigh:: He *does* like the sunglasses I got him. I ran out of money, or I would've gotten him more things. Oh yeah, he had pizza (from the Food Court) for supper.  :-)

And urgh. I was in here on the computer and didn't have Alex with me when it was time for him to go to sleep. I found him around 9:20pm, asleep, with poop by his bed. ::anguished look:: I was trying to make the last days of his visit here nice. ::sigh::

Well, I have the page up for the Tamagotchi Connection V4 that I will be starting up, probably some time this week! Not a lot to see there yet.

10:08am: I'd forgotten that I am also okay on the Memory game (in addition to the Get game) on the Tamagotchi V3. Anyway, when Alex and I both got up at 9am, I cleaned up the poop. We played a couple games. He had cereal...and then ice cream ::grin:: for breakfast. Then I asked him to be packing his things, that I would be sending him back to Planet Tamagotchi in about an hour or so. ::sniff:: It's always hard to see them go...

10:32am: Just a couple minutes ago Mrs. BusyBody, the matchmaker, came to see if Alex would like to marry a cute little Androtchi. But I said no, seeing as it wouldn't be fair on either of them, what with him going home today and all.

10:49am:  Okay, I put on music, The Carpenters' "Sing", and sent Alex back to Planet Tamagotchi at 10:44am. ::sniffle:: I'll miss you, sweetie! I hope you had a good time here!

3:14pm: A new Tam has arrived! Happy was born earlier this afternoon. Go see about her here.

Thursday, February 22, 2007, 4:28pm: Lots has been happening with Happy. These V4 Tams sure can do a lot more than their predecessors!

Yesterday she started going to pre-school.  Also someone not very nice (anonymous) sent her snakes in the mail! Eek! Whenever it happened, she lost all her happy hearts.  :-(  However she and I are pretty durn good at the Jumping Rope game. :-)  A perfect score brings 4 happy hearts!

Today she became a Young Memetchi! So lovely! She went to pre-school and had to say goodbye to her caretaker/nanny/teacher there, which made her sad. But as soon as she got home, she got a letter asking her to come to regular grade school! She met Mr. Turtlepedia; but since she prefers to work on her artistic skills, she asked for Ms. Flower as her teacher instead. Ms. Flower gave her a gift, although I don't really know what it was or where it went. I have so much to learn about these V4's!

I'm waiting for Bunnicula's Tam to change into his teenage self so that he and Happy can begin to meet and (I hope!) become friends. B. has been out a lot and has had to put hir Tam on pause. So G. is a bit behind, time-wise, in evolving.

In knitting and crocheting news (yes, I am actually doing a little of that again!): I finished a tan-and-white variegated knitted cell phone cozy (made from Sugar'n Cream yarn), lined it with white cotton material (so that any bling I add to my phone will not catch on the stitches), and added a brown button. I thought that would go better with my Pirates of the Caribbean cell phone straps than a cute pink Hello Kitty cell phone case.  :-P  Also today I quickly crocheted a little mini-cozy for Happy's egg (which by the way in person really looks like raspberry sorbet instead of a light lavender). It's just a small version of a cell phone cozy. I did that in Red Heart Kids in Light Purple (well, it's lavender).

Saturday, February 24, 2007, 8:39am: Bunnicula's Tam evolved Thursday evening into a Young ContactAndrotchi, so we had Happy and Y.A. meet! Yesterday they met a couple more times. B. and I were both kinda busy yesterday, so we had our Tams on and off pause throughout the day. Happy and I did manage to play the Box game at school somewhat okay. Anyway, Happy's skill points are getting better.

Last night I did *not* take Happy along (and did leave her on pause) to claire's (where I found several cute cell phone straps--they're okay, but not nearly as nice as the ones from StrapYa.com!) nor to either GameStop store we went to. I ended up getting Contact for the DS (click on the pic to see it MUCH LARGER). I am not sure if I am going to like it. The combat system seems weird to me...

But speaking of StrapYa.com: Cat'r gave me a BEAUTIFUL present from there! It's a Vintage Swarovski Crystal Sacred White Elephant cell phone strap (click on the pic to see it larger). It came in a lovely presentation box too! It is a late Valentine's Day present.

Sunday, February 25, 2007, 6:52am: It's already exactly two months since Christmas Day (or ten months UNTIL Christmas!). We got that wintertime feeling again last night, hearing the freezing rain hitting the windows all evening. A good night to stay in and knit!

Starbucks Coffee

Yesterday afternoon Happy got to go to a Starbucks Coffee Shop! Actually, I had her on pause most of the time, but at least she got to look around and hear all the NOISE! LOL! It's always so busy in this particular Starbucks.

Cat'r and I met up with Baker and Bebop, and we all had a rousing game of "Loot", well TWO rousing games. I won the first one, but lost miserably the second time--Baker won the second game.  :-)  "Loot" is a card game about pirates and capturing merchant ships full of GOLD!

Monday, February 26, 2007, 1:42pm: Today I went to the icon on Happy's egg--the Friends List--and went to Points. There I chose to donate 5000 points to the King. The instructions say, "The King will thank you for a donation. NOTE: The King will now instruct you to visit him in Tamagotchi Town [this did NOT happen]. You may do so by using the 14-digit LOGIN number provided by our toy." I thought, Okay, I'll take Happy to Tamagotchi Town. So I did. Guess what? The King is not even in residence yet! Aarrggh! It says "Coming Soon" over his castle.  :-(   So I think I probably threw 5000 Gotchi points away. :-/   Also, there are fewer things to buy and do in Tamagotchi Town for the V4's. The V3 section of T.Town has MUCH more to see and do. There are not even any movies yet in the V4 T.Town.

Happy is getting to have a VERY good friend in Bunnicula's Tam, who turned out to be a cute Togetchi. He has brought her ice cream and flowers and even a chest with 2000 Gotchi points in it! Wow, what a generous friend (soon-to-be boyfriend?? I hope!)!

Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 4:25pm: Happy has a steady boyfriend now! Bunnicula's Tam came to visit today. He and Happy looked at a winter scene together (falling snow, snowman and snowlady), a heart floated up, then they turned to each other and kissed, then another heart floated up! Woohoo! Their friendship/love meters both say two hearts and two friendship faces.  :-)   However I don't think Happy should get married too soon--she's still in school! And I do want her to have a career first before becoming a mother.

B.'s Tam got a job at an amusement park today! Happy, as just mentioned, is still in school and doing well. In fact, if she plays the Box Game now, it does nothing to increase her skill levels anymore. She seems maxed at 149 points for Artistic. ::sigh::  So I've had her playing other games, to try to get her other skills up to what would seem like respectable levels.

5:21pm: About 5:10pm Happy got an important piece of mail! She went to her high school graduation but was very unhappy to leave her beloved teacher, Ms. Flower. When Happy returned home, she received another piece of mail involving job offers! She first applied to be a rock star (idol singer?), but she didn't make it through the interview process. :-(  So she applied at a bakery and won the job! The King of the Tamagotchi brought her a chef's hat, and Happy was on her way! She has gone to work twice already. They have her working on a kind of assembly line, choosing the right cakes and other goodies to go with orders (I am assuming). It's not too demanding a job, and her Art skills are going up again.  :-)  Anyway, she seems pretty content.

I have been teaching Happy how to play Hearts this afternoon (she's watching while I play Hardwood Hearts and explain everything to her). That way she can teach everyone back on Planet Tamagotchi to play Hearts when she goes home.  :-)  Oh, I looked at my last entry about Hardwood Hearts--I have since bought the full version so I can play any and all the time.  :-P

5:30pm: More mail for Happy just arrived--a bouquet from the King of the Tamagotchi!! Wow!

Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 12:02pm: Happy watched last week's episode of "Jericho" with us last night. I gave her a VERY quick recap, then told her to just get the rest telepathically from my brain.  :-P  Wow, such a tense series!

Last night the King of the Tamagotchi also sent Happy some chocolates. Um...I was beginning to worry if he was wooing her!

But today Happy and her boyfriend (Bunnicula's Tam) met and smooched a LOT! Then there were fireworks, and Happy gave birth to two beautiful baby boys (tsubutchi). One of the brothers went to live with B.'s Tam. The other is doing just fine with Happy. The King of the Tamagotchi continues to be a benevolent ruler. He sent Happy 1400 Gotchi points in the mail today (after her babies were born)!

I guess Tam mothers recover from childbirth almost instantaneously: Happy went off to work with no problems (I babysat her child). She also decided jumping rope wouldn't hurt her at all! Eep! Oh well, I guess Tamagotchi physiology is totally different from humans'.

I hope Happy sticks around for a day or so more. B. and I just didn't expect the couple to become so amorous so fast! They were both "only" at 2 hearts each when last we checked! Oh well, "love has a mind of its own"!
