Second: Happy Father's Day, all you dads! Here is my tribute to my father.

Third: here is a fun silly video Cat'r and I did today. It's from the movie "Joe Versus the Volcano". In the movie Tom Hanks sang this song and accompanied himself on an ukulele. Anyway, we had fun, as you'll see in the bloopers after the main video. Oh: I didn't use my red cowboy Fluke because in the movie Tom Hanks uses a nice plain brown little ukulele. Also, although you can't see it in this video, my Lanakai matches Cat'r's Kala almost exactly, white binding and all! So: his 'n' hers ukuleles. :-)

Thursday, June 24, 2010, 11:37am: I'm selling my old (vintage, it turns out!) Martin mandolin. Please stay to the end of the video to hear Tim do some nice playing. Information below the video:

I forgot to say: any serious, reasonable offers will be considered. Please see the ad here. The Serial Number in the ad is incorrect. The correct S/N is 14476. Also, I found out today that it's a 1929 (not 1928). Contact information is in the ad; but you can also reach me at ctrymaus @ gmail.com Thanks!

Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 11:07pm: This is a cross-post from CountryMouse's Refuge:

Lips! and more!

Over at Cat'r's house. on TwitpicI went over to Cat'r's house tonight. I'd already had my supper, but we went through the drive-thru at Popeye's for Cat'r to get a chicken dinner. While he was eating I took a couple photos with his camera, including one of me in his living room (click on the photo to see it larger).

Then we played Lips, the karaoke game! It was a lot of fun and romantic too, since we chose a lot of duets and romantic songs.

Songs I remember we did: "Such Great Heights", "Take On Me", "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart", "Fireflies" (we did this in Kiss Mode, which was really fun and cool!), "Baby It's Cold Outside", "Speed of Sound", "Take Me Home, Country Roads", and lastly "Ring of Fire".

It is so nice and cool out this evening, and everything smelled wonderful. The sky is clear and all the stars twinkling. On the way home we saw a deer only a couple blocks from my house! I think developers are taking away their natural habitat because Cat'r has been seeing them a lot around his neighbourhood. This is the closest we've seen one yet to my house!

Anyway, a really nice evening.

Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 5:21pm: UPDATE: See this entry about why I removed this video from YouTube.

This is a contest entry but also a parody. No offense meant--this was the first song that popped into my head when I heard about this contest! That's a Suzuki Omnichord I'm playing. Lyrics below the video:

What A Friend We Have In Cheeses

What a friend we have in cheeses
Versatile and good for you
What a privilege to eat them
Oh just taste that good old Bleu!
Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not eat them
Please bring me that great Gruyere!

Have we hunger or the munchies?
Is there sadness anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Eat some lovely Camembert.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our tastes fulfill
Cheeses know our every cravings
Taste that little Babybel.

Rapture, praise, and endless nomming
To our cheeses always give.
