HER

The story opens with Ranma have a nightmare in which he sees his girl-type form and his male form. The girl is in some kind of pain, screaming over and over while his male-form seems to have a malignant nature to it.

The situation deteoriates quickly after Ranma awakens, with everyone realizing that something is seriously wrong with him. He even tells off Shampoo when she arrives. Ranma stays home from school and has a long talk with Ryoga, stating that he believes that the souls of those who died in the springs inhabit the bodies of the people who fall into the spring.

The situation goes quickly into the bizarre when Ranma and Ryoga ask Kasumi to pour water over them, changing each into their other forms; meaning P-chan appeared right in front of Akane. Kasumi suddenly demonstrates chi-attacks and actually overcomes Akane's mallet.

It seems that there are major complications with their curses, including one in which Ranma could end up no longer existing.

One of my favorite lines in all the Ranma-chan fiction I've read is when Kasumi and Akane are talking about Akane's cooking. Akane is saying that "It's not like it's my fault that sometimes what I cook is a little too spicy..."

Kasumi replies "Akane-chan, chicken curry is spicy. One time you made a beefbowl that tried to molest me." Akane then replies "It was not trying to molest you! It was just being friendly, Okay!?"

Another funny scene was when Akane made some remarks that the Ranko part of Ranma did not like and Ranma/Ranko produced an even bigger mallet than Akane has!

It then becomes noticeable that Ranma's male side is weakening while his female side is getting stronger. Ryoga and Ranma-chan become closer then, after another of the dreams, this one in which he finally defeats his evil male self, Ranma realizes that "he" is really a "she" and wants to stay that way and that she is attracted to Ryoga.

Cologne, Akane, Shampoo and Ukyou end up deciding that they are going to exorcize the Ranko personality from Ranma's body and return him to being fully male. Meanwhile, Ranma and Ryoga are working with Happosai to get Ranma turned physically permanently female.

The three girls end up attacking Ranma and Ryoga but are easily defeated when P-chan splashes cold water on Ranma, changing him into the ultra-powerful Ranko form.

Nodoka finds out but is totally at ease with it and is very pleased with how happy Ranko/Ranma/Ranma-chan is.

The three girls and Cologne end up challenging Ranma and Ryoga to another battle in a month's time, and spend that time getting ready. Unknown to them, though, Happosai has returned and doused Ranma with a special water, changing him permently into the female Ranko/Ranma-chan form.

The final battle then commences with the girls having improved vastly over their first time. They finally understand, though, that Ranma-chan is really a girl and will stay that way. They then have to deal with that, and the epilogue goes on to explain what happened to the various characters.

This is a very good story. Again, Ranma ends up becoming a girl permanently and voluntarily. His life improves and so does virtually everyone else's. The story deals a lot with friendship plus has a strong psychological approach. The characters are done well. There are some who will disapprove of the Ranma-chan/Ryoga romantic relationship, but that's actually found in a number of the Ranma-chan fiction pieces.
