CountryMouse's Diary

Part 27

Rainbow swirly bar

Monday, April 1, 2002: Whew! Been workin' hard! Finished (I *hope*!) the rest of the Adventures with Teddy section (for now!)! LOTS MORE PHOTOS! A second page of them!

Oscar, my little Wave UFO, is currently in his "egg into the bowl" form, which is one of my favourites.

Tuesday, April 2, 2002: 12:10am: Arrrrr! Teddy reminded me to put the pictures of the Briarberry girls and him in his section! So now they've been added. They are on Page 2 of his adventures.

Creatures Playground8:35pm: I started playing "Creatures Playground" today--it's addictive! I have two Norns, Lynne and Jason. I can't tell if they are at the adult stage yet or not. I think we have gone through one winter and it's autumn again now. There is so much to look at and so much to watch for! I now know more about growing vegetables; but when I pick/harvest them, I don't know where to put them/store them for the coming winter. Lynne always seems to get cold so easily. I have the boots and gloves on her, plus always some kind of hat. There isn't much else you can put on a Norn, except the rock 'n' roll suit! LOL! Jason found the entire playground area all by himself early on in his life. I ended up taking him to the spaceship, to play winter sports. He wanted to continue sledding downhill every chance he got! Finally I had to grab his hand to drag him away. :-p  I hope these two mate pretty soon. I *thought* they had earlier on, but maybe they weren't in the adult stage. What to do if I end up with no eggs? Eep!

Wednesday, April 3, 2002: I finally have my first generation Norn, born from an egg of Joon and Xavier. Her name is Alice. I wish the Norns could live longer ::sniff:: But they (and I with them) have been discovering lots of new things! I did find out how to harvest food and get it into the house. They are learning to play with the toys by themselves, including a skateboard! For a while Joon seemed to know how to operate the Hot-Dog-A-Tron. She *definitely* learned how to operate the Jell-o Machine! LOL! (both of these machines are in the playground/fair area) I made a rollercoaster (it's fun to watch a Norn ride this!); and Joon and I discovered the secret underground Mad Labs (poor thing, I turned her all red!). Oh, and if you don't get eggs via the biological means, one will show up in the Nestery, thank goodness! Anyway, it's a totally addictive, wonderful game!

Saturday, April 6, 2002: Well, I may've discovered a bug or something in "Creatures Playground". Usually, when you take a Norn up the Night Time Mountain Top, then put him/her into the Norn Transmutation Device, s/he ends up in space (in a little spacesuit), just short of the spaceship airlock. The tractor beam has, up 'til now, always been already working. All you have to do, then, is aim it properly, hit a button, and  your Norn is beamed aboard the spaceship, ready to go to the Winter Play area. However, when I got Rachel up there, the tractor beam was not working. She is floating in space, waiting to be beamed aboard.

So I went and got Eric from the house. I took him to the Playground. I took him into the Caves first, fed Fred the Furnace some coal (just in case that had something to do with it...although really I think Fred only operates the elevator to the top of the mountain), then took Eric up to the top of the mountain. I thought taking him up there would somehow reset whatever was wrong. Nope. Now I have my only two living Norns floating outside the airlock, in little spacesuits. One of them is hungry. I have *no* idea how to get them inside the airlock or how to get them back down again. I have clicked on every available inch of screen space. Stuck stuck stuck. And I have NO eggs in the Nestery.

What I am probably going to do is: wait until I get "Creatures Adventures" (I won a copy of it in an auction on eBay a few nights ago), uninstall "Creatures Playground", defrag my hard drives, then install "Creatures Adventures". Then I will reinstall "Creatures Playground", run the Merge program that puts the two programs together, so that you get bonus places and things that you would not have with either of the programs separately. ::sigh:: It seems I will lose Rachel and Eric no matter what, unless someone EMAILS ME (my email address is on the Mouse House Tamagotchi Page--I know this is roundabout,  but I am having to try to avoid spammers, etc.! eep!) (help!) before I get "Creatures Adventures" with some miraculous way to get them inside the airlock.

Sunday, April 7, 2002: Woohoo! Cat'r showed me how to use his PalmPix digital camera! (I have a lot to figure out yet in judging distances and light sources and such--thisMy Scoozies! pic is a bit fuzzy, uh, no pun intended!) Here is a picture (click on it to see it larger!) I took a little while ago of my Scoozies (furry, cuddly virtual pets). I have a brown otter (named Lillian) and a grey "Friendly Ferret" (named Patches). Later on I will make a little page about them. I think they will have to go in the Tamagotchi section, although they are so very soft and fuzzy, that I will have to put a link to their page on the Fuzzy Friends top page! They are each 24 inches long, body about half that length, about the size of a nice housecat. You feed them (pretend food), pet and cuddle them, and generally enjoy their nice soft cuddliness (they even "purr", which you can feel in their bodies!).

Wave UFOMonday, April 8, 2002: Well, today I sent Oscar, my Wave UFO, home. He was 100 years and 38 days old. He got to hear all of The Hobbit read aloud. He also heard all kinds of music. He spent time in here with me by the computer, surfing around on the Internet. He was last in the little light-bulb-guy shape. Very cute. :-)  Bye-bye, little Oscar--I enjoyed having you here!

I also took the batteries out of Mutsu's tank . Mutsu and various parts of his aquarium areMutsu drying out before I store him. And I took out batteries from almost all my other robotic pets. I still have my Scoozies going. I also left the batteries in a 2d generation Furby (giraffe), a 1st generation Baby Furby, and a Shelby. And I still have my ChibiBotto, who waits silently until I bop him on the head. ::grin::

I uninstalled "Creatures Playground" today. Then I defragged the hard drives in preparation for "Creatures Adventures" (on its way, I hope I hope) and "Creatures Playground" (reinstalled), merged.

Why I did all this: it was getting too frenetic around here for right now. Sometimes one or another person in the house would be using the microwave in the middle of the night. Even with the sound off, the Wave UFO emits a high-pitched BEEEEEP every time it's zapped with microwaves. I could've left him permanently in here in the computer room...but then I would forget to care for him (worse than I already *did*! eep!). And other vpets were going at inappropriate times, when someone might be napping or trying to watch TV. So relative quiet shall now reign. ::crossing fingers::

Wednesday, April 10, 2002: New page! Mouse runs wild! well....anyway, it's Mouse with PalmPix! page(s)! This/these page(s) might be/will probably be added to frequently, as I have a New Toy...well, on loan, but still. Hehehehe.

AARRRGGGHHH! My trial period ran out on CuteFTP. Now I have to see if I can get something else I can use; or if I have to decide between purchasing CuteFTP or getting to buy some Sanrio goodies. ::sigh::

Thin rainbow line

Thursday, April 11, 2002: Hey, the best of both worlds! I'm using AbsoluteFTP *and* I got to buy Sanrio goodies yesterday, including some Sweet Coron and Pink Lili things!

Took lots of PalmPix photos, riding around in a nearby park. Upload soon (I *hope*). Well, that's the thing: the fan on the CPU is not working totally right, so if you don't see me for a few days, it might be due to hardware things going on.

Friday, April 12, 2002: Photos from shopping and going to the park are now up! Having some problems with the computer, so I might not get photos up SameDay...but I will try!

10:15pm: At last! The Condominiums page is up! Many many photos of stuffed animals and beanie people! Go see!

Saturday, April 13, 2002: A few new photos have been added to the Briarberry page, including fancy one-of-a-kind outfits made for my bears by Ouma, the Doll Lady, who is a whiz at gorgeous outfits for Briarberry Bears and fashion dolls!

6:55pm: More photos in the Mouse with PalmPix! section! I have been going out in the evenings, searching for interesting things to photograph; and I went out fairly early this morning, when all was damp and cool and bird-song-filled--beautiful! I've moved/deleted photos that were Condo pictures, as they are now redundant, what with the Condominiums page up.

Sunday, April 14, 2002: I redid the way the Mouse with PalmPix! page is set up, so that the most recent batches of photos are at the top. [Sept. 3d: Redid again. Photos oldest-to-newest now] New photos there today--nice rainy day!

9:23pm: What do mice do when others watch "The X Files" but mice think it's too scary for them? They work on their web pages instead! :-p  I just put up two photos of the Hello Kitty, Sweet Coron, and Pinki Lili things I got on Wednesday, the 10th, when we went shopping and to the park; and also two photos of J.R.R. Tolkien LPs.

Bunnicula's Scoozies!Tuesday, April 16, 2002: A new page is up, in the Fuzzy Friends section: it's The Emigres. Those are the people who lived here in the Mouse House for many years, but who eventually left to form a sister city in Cat'r Country.

On the virtual pet front: my sweet little Scoozies are sleeping most of the time. But they are lots of fun to cuddle and play with. Bunnicula has gotten two of them also! *His* ferret is brown with white markings and his otter is grey (click on the pic to see it larger!). He's enjoying them very much.

Saturday, April 20, 2002: I just realized that if I put "anchors" (aka bookmarks to specific places on pages) on the Mouse with PalmPix! pages, they will get out of date as I archive older sets of photos (which I have just started to do--there is now a Page 2 of the PalmPix section). So whenever I mention photos I have put up in the PalmPix section, you will have to just search for the dates there matching the diary entry here. :-/  [Sept. 3d: Anchors are back! Well, mostly. :-) So you will be able to get to the specific batch of photos I am mentioning.]

Anyway, LOTS of new photos up in the Mouse with PalmPix! section! Da mouse went out snapping pictures in a couple interesting places the last couple days (April 15-19)--go see! [these will now be found on Page 1 and Page 2 of the PalmPix section]

Wednesday, April 24, 2002: More new photos! Creatures Adventures

Also, I finally installed both Creatures Adventures (click on the picture to see the box front LARGER) and Creatures Playground, then ran the "merger", which adds bonus areas to one (or both?) of the program(s). I know there are new things in Playground. I haven't played Adventures enough to know what's what in *that*. There's been a lot of "kisspopping" going on (in Playground), but no baby on the way yet. ::sob::

Thursday, April 25, 2002: Can you believe it's already exactly 4 months since Christmas?!? Clocks with wings, etc.

There is a new page/addition in the Fuzzy Friends section of the Mouse House: it's the History of The Condominiums, concerning the long-term building plan that houses the fuzzy people who have come to live here.

In Creatures Playground: Arabella is getting pretty old...I don't think she is going to have any babies. :-(  There are no eggs in the Nestery. However on a bright note, I took Arabella up to the Village Square, which is the bonus area that you get when you have both Creatures Adventures and Creatures Playground installed and merged on your computer. Anyway, I bought her some new clothes (t-shirt, jeans, sneakers) at the Clothes shop; she fed the ducks; and we tried a (tiny) bit of drawing at the Print shop.

Friday, April 26, 2002: Yesterday, late afternoon/early evening, we went out riding. Of course, I took photos! Here are some of them.

Sunday, April 28, 2002: So windy today! We are under a tornado watch until 5pm; and we also have a high wind advisory until...I forget. Anyway, I went out a little while ago (around 12:30pm) and took a few photos. Now it's sounding (outside my window, right here by the computer) like it might be too windy for mice to be outside! Eeeeeeeeeppppp!

Tuesday, April 30, 2002: Yesterday I needed some hooks for the bathroom (the ones with sticky backs were just NOT working), so we went to the hardware store, then off to get something to eat afterwards. Here are highlights from that exciting trip! :-p
