CountryMouse's Diary

Part 77

Thursday, September 6, 2007, 5:15pm: It's finally September! This August just past was the hottest on record for our area. We had 25 days out of 31 in which the high temperature was 90*F. or over, 6 of them at 100*F or higher. Eek, global warming, I guess.  :-(  BUT: just a couple more 90*F. + days to get through and then I hope we are finished with them for the year! I am so glad autumn is just around the corner!!  I love autumn  I always know when I (finally!) have a copy of the Old Farmer's Almanac for the coming year in my hot little paws that autumn is on the way--yay! [EDIT: Sept. 19, 2007: Fay Mouse Last Words--ugh! We are having high temps. up around 90*F. again. This is ridiculous!]

I did it! I finally finished the Everlasting Navy Grape Throw! It's now officially named Cat'r's Navy Grape Throw. Here it is! And here's when I first started it!

Wednesday, September 19, 2007, 1:30am: I know I'm only in one Web Competition, but I'm also in two online social groups. Plus I've been getting back into knitting and crocheting and will be starting back to one of the knitting groups I used to go to (so offline life is getting a little busier). I need to scale back what I am doing online. So I am dropping out of Web Comps. for now. Please be patient while I get things changed/taken down. I hope I will be able to keep my spirit pages up though, as I feel honoured to have received all the awards that I won. If you ever want to join one of the friendliest, nicest Web Comps. ever, go here:

10:02pm: I forgot to post this at the beginning of the month: If you don't see me here, check:

countrymouse's LiveJournal

and/or

CountryMouse's Yahoo! 360* Blog

Or even if you DO see me here, check them anyway. ::grin:: Remember, I can't post to CM's Diary unless I am at my desktop computer at home. But I can post to my LiveJournal and my Yahoo! 360* Blog from anywhere/any computer!

11:31pm: Okay, here's what happened to My Voting Page. It's now My Web Competition Spirit Pages

Saturday, September 22, 2007, 7:29pm: Wow, I was gonna have Cat'r post in my LiveJournal for me after he got back down to his work city tomorrow evening. Our cable modem went out this afternoon, and it didn't look like it was going to be back on any time soon. I called the cable company, and the earliest appointment they could give us for a tech to come out was Wednesday! EEEK! But somehow, without any warning, it came back on a few minutes ago. However, if it flakes out again, I'll have to ask Cat'r to post for me. So, like I said above, if you don't see me here, check my LJ!

And totally unrelated (or maybe related??): our high temperatures have been up in the low 90's (Fahrenheit) again. This is SO not normal for this time of year here. Grrr! Tomorrow will be the first day of autumn. ::sigh:: It's supposed to be cooler from Wednesday onward, though.

Sunday, September 30, 2007, 10:04pm: Yep, someone described it as "knitting with a porcupine".  hee.  Okay, so it took me several times of casting on and doing a few rows before I finally felt satisfied that this will be okay and I can go forward. It's double-pointed needles, folks. I never thought I would be able to do it! Here are photos of the very beginnings of a wrist warmer.

I have completed a few other knitted and crocheted things, but I don't have the photos up yet. Soon, soon.
