Saturday, April 2, 2005, 7:48am: Even if you are not Catholic or even Christian, I hope you are praying for or thinking good thoughts for or whatever works for you for Pope John Paul II. He's a great and good man and deserves respect and support in his time of crisis and probably passing to the Otherside.

If you are wondering why I chose an earlier photo of Pope John Paul II, that's how I will always remember him. I was a Catholic when he came to visit the U.S. in 1987. I watched as much of the coverage of his visit as I could. I found him to be a charismatic, warm, and wonderful person. He has done so much good in the world, that even though I have philosophical differences with him, I still love and respect him.

8:38pm: Here is a very nice place to go to read about Pope John Paul II, light a candle, leave a prayer, talk on message boards, etc. It's Beliefnet.

9:57pm:  I have added some things to my U.U. Page (which is my spirituality section). There are various interesting and peaceful things to which I have created links. Go see!

Sunday, April 3, 2005, 10:27am: Heaven's Angels sent out a lovely memorial plaque for Pope John Paul II, and I added a couple photos I like with it. They are here, in my Memorials section. [EDIT Nov. 6, 2007: I took those photos down at some point, but here is my Remembrances section]

Tuesday, April 19, 2005, 4:12am: Ack! I'm still up! When did it get to be 4am?!

Anyway, there are a couple new poems up over in The Poet's Corner.

Oh yeah. And as to American Idol:

I Love Constantine

11:49am: A few days ago we watched a touching wonderful movie called "Ping Pong" (Japanese - 2002). It's about heroes, doing your best, seeing the greatness in others and in yourself. Go rent it/buy it/borrow it from the library!

Thursday, April 21, 2005, 12:52am: (cross-posted from my LiveJournal) Okay, I guess I *will* do The Poncho: I *was* going to wait to do the Martha Stewart poncho, figuring it had gotten beyond when it would be useful, temperature-wise.

However, I just looked at the weather for the next few days: snow showers?! Saturday night and Sunday morning? Lows in the lower 30s?!

Then highs in the 50s for a couple days too. So I think I *will* make that Martha Stewart poncho starting *tomorrow*!

I saw a lady in Michaels the other evening wearing her Martha poncho. Looked great! I asked her how long it had taken her, and she said eight hours. Others say it goes fast. So I think I'd better get cracking! I have the Lion Brand Homespun yarn (I'm going to use Blue Ridge, a dark grey blue with tan in it, although Bernat's Galaxy (Neptune colour) seems closer to the original--but Galaxy is a bit pricey, for what you get, aaaaand it has mohair and alpaca in it--I can't use animal fibers); I'm going to use the Lion Brand "Coming Home" poncho pattern (there are two other patterns out there, but this is the one I think I'll use)--I'm all set!

Speaking of crochet...! My sis has begun selling her crochet patterns online! Go check it out! It's Paanmo Designs! I don't get a kick-back...in fact, I have already bought some of her patterns myself! :-)  I'm a proud sister ::beam:: [EDIT Nov. 6, 2007: she is now selling her patterns through The Knitting Vault]

Friday, April 22, 2005, 10:12am: Today is Earth Day. Go do something nice for Mother Earth today, in gratitude for all that She does for us. To help us celebrate this day, Heaven's Angels sent this plaque out to all its members:

Happy Earth Day - Heavens Angels
